I absolutely loved this class! 2 papers, and 2 tests. Even though the class is easy, I learned A LOT. Attendance is mandatory. He really cares about his students, and has a passion for the hospitality industry. I didn't buy or even look at the book, and still got an A.

Scott Smith is a great guy. He is passionate about hospitality (especially hotels) and really strives to pass that passion on to his students. This is an easy class because he presents the information so clearly. I'd definitely recommend him and I plan on taking him again in the future

After 3 semesters with him, I can honestly say Scott Smith is hands down one of the best teachers at Rosen, or UCF for that matter. He teaches you what you need to know in the Hospitality Industry, and makes is interesting, too. He's kind to his students and there's never a dull moment in class. Now if only he taught more courses...

Took him for Intro to Hosp. over summer.GO TO CLASS!!! Attendance will kill you. Being tardy counts as an absence. 1 absence-1 point off. 2 absences-3 points off. 3 absences-6 points off, etc. The number of points taken off = the numbers of absences uve had added up. ex: 4 absences=1+2+3+4=10 points off. GO TO CLASS!!otherwise its a fun easy class

Professor Smith is a great enthusiastic teacher. Class is mandatory but the lectures are interesting and tests are a piece of cake. He grades a little tougher on the project but still an easy A. He is a great teacher and I wish he taught more classes.

He is the best teacher for this class! He makes the information interesting and his lectures are really funny. There are only 2 papers and 2 tests and as long as you go the writing center you basically have an A on the paper. Attendance is taken but he makes it so interesting you'll want to go anyway. Definitely take him!

Awesome professor! I never had an interest in hospitality but after taking his intro class I'm considering it as a minor. Attendance is taken but I never wanted to miss a class. Pay attention and go to the Writing Center for the papers, you will get a good grade. I loved his class, easy and interesting!

This is my 3rd class with him and probably my favorite! There is no textbook for this class but there are LOTS of articles that you definitely should read b/c tests come straight from them. But don't worry, they are pretty interesting. There is also one group presentation/paper so make sure you get good partners. Definitely recommend this class!

I had him for Event Management and Intro to Hospitality. The guy flat out knows what he's talking about. If you want to learn, take his course. His tests are fairly easy if you study and go to class. Don't skip, his notes are extremely helpful even if his lectures are somewhat slow.

Smith is amazing, I took this class because I thought it would be easy, I didn't have much interest in events before, but I loved his class. He can be a harsh grader on projects, but if you actually put effort into it you'll do fine. And do one of his special projects if they're available-trust me, nothing like real world experience.Take his class!

Professor Smith is a very enthusiastic person, LOVES talking about hospitality. Simple class: powerpoint lectures, 2 very easy essays, 2 exams (includes final). I took this class as a GPA booster, but the class is very interesting, and if i didn't have a career in mind, hospitality would be my best alternative choice

Very interesting and easy class. Professor Smith was very knowledgeable and told lots of cool stories to help remember material. Actually ended up changing my major to hospitality b/c of this class. Tests were rather easy with some studying and the papers were a breeze. Overall a fun class and a great GPA booster

I took him since everyone loves him. Honestly, not quite sure what all the fuss is about. I love the subject and therefore enjoyed the class, but he can be quite rude sometimes and he's a very hard grader on projects. Yes, his tests are easy because he tells you what to know, but he's not very understandable when it comes to difficult times.
