She doesn't care about your opinion on the readings at all. She just wants to hear a certain answer. You'll never get a good grade on your essays unless you go to the writing workshops, they basically write it for you. She was also quite rude to a few students in my class.

If you show up and put in some effort you'll get an A. She gives clear instructions and easy, straight forward assignments. She gives plenty of time to complete essays, and she goes over every detail of readings to make sure any questions are clarified. Overall an easy class if you do the homework, put in a little effort, and participate.

If you are just trying to get by or even just try and enjoy your day this is not the professor you want. You have to read 5-15 page excerpts which is easy but she then expects you to explain it in only the way she wants you to. If you don't view it how she views it she will automatically say you're wrong and lecture you. Prepare to talk. ALOT

Prof. Goldstein tends to not see other views besides hers. When writing papers make sure you write in her opinion or she will not understand your paper. Does not use a text book, provides readings on canvas. Don't recommend this teacher if you actually want to learn to write. This class is only learning how to write in her liking, not the right way

Great teacher and class, a lot of reading but it's only to prepare you for the four papers she gives. Only gives a handful of quizzes that are based on the reading so make sure you read. It's an easy A class if you read, participate and make an effort on the papers.

had professor goldstein for cmp 115 and 120, and i absolutely love her! she loves participation in class and goes out of her way to make sure her students are on top and able to get an A, if they try hard enough. Not an easy A class, need to stay on top of your work and papers but definitely worth taking

I was a bit nervous taking expository writing since writing isn't my strongest subject, but I think she is a great professor. I feel I actually improved over the course of the semester. Would take her again for any writing/literature course. Just make sure you stay on top of assigned readings because she will quiz you a lot!

Comment:

First I took her for expository writing, and she was one of my favorite professors. This semester, I took her for Research Writing, and I started liking her a little less. When I would go to her with essay drafts, I ended up writing my paper over because she disagreed with my opinion. Research writing felt a lot more restricted, but she's alright.

The most helpful professor I had all semester. Offers so much time to help her students out, and clearly explains her expectations. The course material consisted of short readings, making the essay construction very easy. She's a great professor to have and she keeps her students interested and entertained, I really enjoyed taking her class.

One of my favorite teachers, I specifically requested her for another class I liked her so much. A little hairbrained, but smart and funny. She's very helpful with any questions and even went over essay rough drafts with students. I absolutely recomend her class!
