Comment:

Shanthi is the most difficult professor/ teacher I have ever had in my life. She is so frustrating, she teaches it one and encourages you to ask questions and then completely belittles you with her answer. She is so knit picky with grading, has her favorite students, and her take home exams are impossible. Save yourself the energy. IMPOSSIBLE.

Comment:

Shanti is one of the best profs i've had. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Organic chemistry is a hard subject so you do have to put in work in order to do well, and Shanti keeps you motivated and on track to get a good grade! I would highly recommend her & I'm taking her again for Orgo II in the Spring

This is not an easy course to begin with. Id recommend Professor Shanthi! She cares about her students and will make sure you understand the material.

Comment:

Only thing that was graded in class was the tests that were given, which she told us were harder than other professors tests. Promised 12 extra credit opportunities and only gave out one, and stopped doing weekly assessments that was helping the class so she can save lecture time. Not very good at explaining the material, had to teach myself.

Orgo is hard. Period. BUT with Shanthi u'll have ur best chance to pass. She gives so much extra credit, so many chances to do better, and such clear criteria. bad thing is its hard work, and its hard to keep up with all of it because theres a lot. Good thing is theres a lot of opertunities to bring your grade up. 1st test60. Final grade A-

Shanthi is amazing. Literally the smartest woman I have ever met. She offered us retakes on every exam. She gives lots of extra credit just for showing improvement, she offers extra credit in lab, and she is always available to help. Lab was challenging and Orgo is not easy, but she makes you want to put the time in and once you do you're golden

Shanthi is awesome and a qt3.14. Organic chemistry is a difficult class but she does her absolute best to teach it. Class is not mandatory, but good luck passing if you skip it. Tests are the main component of your grade. She is always accessible during office hours to explain whatever you do not understand.

This was my first class with Shanthi and she did an excellent job helping us understand organic chemistry become fluent in it. She wrote all the notes on the board and walked us through each step of different concepts. She went out of her way in helping us understand the material and was a very fair grader. She is by far the best orgo professor.

Shanthi is God's gift to Chemistry, and Stockton. She makes you work for your grade, but she sees your effort and rewards you for it. LAB HELPS YOUR GRADE A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT! Do the recommended problems - they WILL help you! You can easily get an A or B if you try. If you miss lecture, you're left in the dust. I would take her again if needed!!

SHANTHI IS AMAZING. She really cares about her students and wants everyone to like organic chemistry as much as she does. She is a wonderful professor. Expect to do practice problems outside of class. You really need to understand the material, NOT JUST MEMORIZE IT. Practice problems from online/from Shanthi are the best thing to do for your grade.

She's a fantastic teacher who LOVES what she teaches. She does not follow a syllabus. No powerpoints. She only comes in with her markers & is there ON TIME. Be sure you are too if you want to know what is happening. She's GREAT at explaining the material and really tries to make you understand. She's TOUGH. If you have to take this class, take her!

Shanti is great for Orgo 1! She basically is the only professor in the chem department that knows how to teach. She's always there to answer your questions. Make sure to look over notes after class for pop quizzes. Exams are mostly multiple choice. Loved her.

Comment:

Shanthi is one of the best professors at Stockton, hands down. The key to doing well in her class is attending all lectures, completing blackboard practice exams, and supplementing her notes with reading the textbook and doing problems at the end of each chapter. As long as your honest with yourself about putting in hard work, an A is attainable.

This was the hardest class I have taken and it was with one of the hardest professors. I learned so much and put an extreme amount of effort in and out of the classroom. She really cares about her students but rushed through the final chapters which made the final extremely difficult. Don't take if you want an easy A, take it if you want to learn

Shanthi is an amazing professor. Extremely hard, but it is possible to do well if you put the time and effort into it. She wants you to know your stuff more than she wants to give you a good great. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you skip one class, do not expect to catch back up easily.

Comment:

Shanthi's orgo class was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. She's super smart & really wants her students to understand the material. Tests were tough, though. Doesn't take attendance, but if you skip, you will be so lost. The last few chapters she sped through & everyone was confused. Overall, she's a really cool person, but tough.

Shanthi is tough. She grades hard but for a good reason. She would rather send you out into the world with a C and a solid grasp of the material than an A or B that may look good, but might not have been deserved. She has a true passion for learning and teaching and it is apparent almost every day. Take her class and give it all youve got

I loved Shanti. She's really smart and has a reputation for being hard, but the way she works through the problems breaks down the difficult concepts into easier pieces. DO WELL IN THE LAB AND LABEL EVER HYDROGEN AND YOU'LL DO FINE. I honestly got a C+ because I didn't hand things in, Shanti actually grades very generously

Shes an amazing teacher. comes in with just a marker. she is so smart and after everything she explains she asks if anyone has any questions, ask a question if you dont understand. she happily explains everything! my class did good bc we always asked questions! she never gets mad and only wants her students to do their best. pay attention in class

What an amazing professor. She explains things so you can actually understand it and you learn a lot in her class. Her exams are hard but she is always there to help. Take good notes and you will do fine in her class. She also actually cares about her students too and is extremely flexible when it comes to the class.
