Shelley is a great professor! Everyone who complains that she is a difficult professor is only saying that because physics is a difficult subject. Shelley is very caring, fun, and her overall goal is to help her students understand. She gives at least an hour of each class period to solve problems and students can ask her questions. Love her!

Shelley is an awesome professor, and if you have to take an intro level physics class, you should try your best to get her as a professor. The structure of her class is short lecture, group work, short lecture, group work, and then a recap at the end of each class. She lets you have a note sheet on exams, which is great.

Shelley was a good professor for this class. She would point out whenever there was a concept that people don't usually like (it was always true). She has a good sense of humor too! She held office hours two times per weeks and was always willing to help. The class is around 2.5 hours long, so lecture can get pretty dull.

I love Shellie. She's so funny and a little eccentric. I wasn't looking forward to taking physics, but I had a good experience. Yes it's tough, because it's physics. I think most ppl think they can get by without effort bc it's an intro, "easy" course. But you have to do the hw (about 5-6 problems 3x a week) and understand it. She's totally fair.

Unless you love physics and you have hours to dedicate each week to this class, don't take her class! 5 tests plus a cumulative final. Her tests are harder and require a bit more conceptual thinking than what is practiced in class. Best of all, she doesn't justify where or how points were lost on exams.

You spend the entire 2.5 hours lecturing and doing practice problems. She doesn't give you anytime to ask about homework problems. Tests are a lot harder than the homework or any practice problems in class. She takes off ridiculous amounts of points and doesn't clearly explain why on exams. Worst course I've taken at UST by far. Do not take.

Nice lady, but pretty bad when it comes to teaching and grading. Go over a lot of problems in class and in HW, but she doesn't take the time to explain them thoroughly. Come test time you will be in trouble if you do not spend a substantial amount of time teaching yourself outside of class. Make sure your other classes are not time consuming.

when explaining concepts, you think you understand until you do your homework. Her exams have nothing to do with her hw assignments whatsoever. Likes to discourage students by saying the topic is hard and that nobody really does well anyway. quizzes/hw/ labs are useless and don't help with your grades at all. Textbook is essentially useless.

ridiculous grader. enjoys taking off points on exams for bad reasons. labs/hw/quizzes do nothing to help your grade. writes really hard exams that require a lot of thought and is not related to hw/quizzes/in-class problems. pretty biased/judgmental. limited office hours that's convenient only for her.

She sounds like Stan's sister from South Park, which is amusing at first, but quickly gets annoying. Is always smiling, though. This class was pretty easy, but not always interesting.

Good physics teacher and not hard if you enjoy physics. She lets you fix the problems you got wrong on tests for half credit.
