DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She will give you a weekly quiz, homeworks are not graded, she does not care about anyone. Attendance in not required, but she calls you out for missing one class. She can be really rude. Her lectures are confusing she basically reads off the slides. She does not allow calculators.

Comment:

While she may say things that are off/unusual at times, she taught us very well. I took stats in high school, so a lot of what I learned was very familiar. Had weekly quizzes, but for every one (and the midterm and final), you get a notecard/cheat sheet to use. If you go to class, you're more likely to pass.

She's a horrible teacher. I had her or stats and I have always loved math but she made me hate math in a single semester. She doesn't know how to teach and the example problems she gives in class do not help you understand the lessons at all. I don't know how she got so many good reviews she was absolutely the worst teacher I have ever had.

having her for calc was one of the worst experiences I've had with the math department thus far/ Quizzes are 50% of your grade and she grades the quizzes in a way that she takes off so many points for little mistakes that you get the whole thing wrong even if you understand the concept. Don't take her if you can avoid it.

You have to do a lot of your learning outside of class and at study group sessions. She'll teach you the bare minimum and you learn the rest on your own (which is do-able but takes a lot of effort.) Get ready to challenge yourself.

For calc, Sandberg is an actual nightmare. She only grades for quizzes & tests, which we don't get index cards for. She basically makes you teach yourself. She'll briefly go over a topic and then you have to learn it by doing the homework. And I'm pretty sure the only other person to give quizzes on Monday at 8:30 is Satan.

I'm awful at math and I've always hated it but Dr. Sandberg made stats possible for me to succeed. Just pay attention and put in some time studying for every weekly quiz (which you get a note card on) and you're golden. She's a phenomenal teacher and makes everything simple and clear.

I am so bad at math and it is not my thing, but her notes are so easy to understand and I actually get it. In this class, there are weekly quizzes. There is hw but she doesn't collect it. She also lets you use index card with notes for the quizzes, half sheets for midterms and full page for final :) hollaaaa no studying nor memorizing formulas!

Sandberg is good teacher. She is very confusing at times, but usually pretty good at explaining. There were quizzes every wednesday and you could use a index card cheat sheet. One midterm and a final and both can have larger cheat sheets. Important that you go to class or else you will be lost.

awful class, unles you're a math person then she doesn't really help. she answers your question with a question which was irritating, and she is confusing. wish i had a different teacher. i had a stats class in high school and loved it- she made me hate it.

Good Teacher. I have always done well in math and she makes things clear to understand. Do not miss class or you will be behind. You can use a note card on EVERY test and quiz so no memorizing formulas! You only have to do hw if you feel you need more practice with the material, it's not collected. If you have a question ask right away.

Best math teacher I've ever had. I've never understood math so quickly. We get to use a note card for every weekly quiz and half sheet for exams then full sheet for finals! Although attendance isn't mandatory, DON'T SKIP! you are guaranteed to fall behind!

This class was incredibly boring. She talks and writes notes for 2 hours. I had at least 3 pages of notes everyday. That being said, she does explain everything very well and is very clear as to what she wants. She's very fair when it comes to grading. She assigns home work but, it's not mandatory. Good class overall.

Comment:

She is very knowledgeable and teaches a lot. The tests are very easy (with cheat sheets) and ultimately, I don't think I learned anything and still got an A. I'd probably be screwed if I had to take another math class that was dependent on this one.
