Carmen is overloaded she has a lot on her plate but she's very educated knows her stuff and will always clarify during office hours. better one on one. I learned SO MUCH from this class and Carmen as a prof. she gets a bad rap bc she can be unclear but all in all I'd take the class again and her as a prof. Build a relationship wit her youll be fine

I'm not sure why everyone rated her so terribly. Her class can be very boring and dry if you don't have class discussions, but the work is only 5 papers spread out through out the semester and she grades them very easily if you follow her guidelines. Go to her office hours and you are bound to get an A. you also always get out early.

At first she seemed very tough and not understanding that ppl had lives outside of class (assigning 300 pages to read bw classes). Carmen is very unclear and seems to use her own diversity as her credential for maintaining her position. she talks circles around questions asked and she confuses everyone including herself when she attempts to explain assignments. Follow the well detailed instructions for the projects and you will make it, but don't expect to adore the class

Not a very upbeat teacher. Easy class, but she dragged the time out because she didn't have enough material to cover during the length of class time which made it boring. Want an easy A though...Take this class.

I HATED THAT CLASS!!! She is a VERY tough grader and is EXTREMELY unclear about what she wants. She does not even use her own material so she can't explain it. She is downright insulting in class, and blames the students when everyone does badly.
