As long as you watch all the lecture videos the class is fairly easy. If you don't and just take the quizzes and test you will most likely not pass. I only took online and the layout is very easy to follow and is not confusing to figure out what to do. Sends weekly reminders to get assignments turned in. Do the work and it will be an easy. pass.

Took this class for spring. I didn't do as well as I wanted for the 1st half of the semester, but I did not study. However, for the 2nd half I studied his reviews, watch his videos, and did all of his homework(same as the tests just different numbers), I managed to pass with an A. So if you don't study you won't pass. Pretty easy class if you try.

Comment:

He goes all the way out to send reminders EVERY TIME an assignment/ test will be due. Many professors only remind you once, while he does it a week early the day of and hours before it is due. His videos are very helpful, pay attention to the video examples and the homework review and you should do fine!

Comment:

Professor Alkhaz is just like any math professor, vulnerable to bad reviews by those who did not do the work. Many of the negative reviews are due to the students lack of discipline to take a college course. He speaks in simple terms and gives shortcuts to make math easier. Focuses on foundations of math in order to give a clear understanding.

Very good Stats professor. Helps you with all of the online homework and the test reviews are a life saver. He also lets you use a 5 by 8 notecard for the tests. I missed one of my tests and he let me go in a day late to take it! Hes very understanding and cares about his students. HIGHLY recommend

I just finished taking this as an 8 week online class. I am taking 4 other classes as well, and managed to do decent in this class. It was accelerated as expected, and the test reviews and homework were enough to prepare me for the tests. But you need to actually do all of the homework and test reviews to succeed

I took this College Algebra class as an 8 week exelerated course. The instructor was clear in what was needed. All assignments can be done till you get a 100 on it as long as it is done by the due date. It was auto graded so you knew your grade right away. The instructor did review tests and gave partial credit on some problems. Good communicator!

Great professor, would love to have him again. He is totally fair and realistic about work load and length of exams. He prepares exam review sheets in a manner that is easy for us to get. He will give you partial credit on missed exam questions if you show your work and forgot simple stuff. He will explain math in a way you will understand.

Theres a lot of homework that is on the Pearson website, which you do have to pay besides the tuition. 4 Tests and a Final for the month. Tests are proctored through ProctorU, but the tests are quite simple since they are mostly multiple choice. Sometimes fill in the blank which are less than 3 questions. Take him if you want to pass.

I tried my best with Calculus. I got tutored every weekend, but his exams were extremely difficult and he hardly gave half credit. When he lectures, he talks towards the board and does not write out all the steps. This is a huge warning, if you don't have a strong math background. I highly recommend that you take someone else. Lecture heavy.

One of the best math teachers. He is respected and cares about his students' grades. His lecture is heavy because it is pre-calc, but I understood from him. His tests start easy and then get harder. His test reviews are helpful and if you did them you will make an A. My Math Lab is used in the course.
