It is like the previous reviews have stated. You need to pretty much memorize everything, make sure you actually review each day or you're gonna fall completely behind. If you can try to take it in the summer he doesn't teach it then.

He is one of the best teacher but makes the course lot harder than it has to be. Tests are very difficult.

He told us that it is an insult to him and the engineering field if we have to google anything, but told us the day after exam that we shouldve studied using google only. He knows his man pro notes are terrible. He tells us obvious facts like were stupid but tells us less obvious facts like we shouldve known it already. Still entertaining though

Imagine trying to memorize every detail on his notes and in his lectures as well as being an expert on the processes he teaches by looking those up and memorizing every detail about them. He inadequately prepares you for tests/quizzes and expects you to know as much as he does. He won't help and does his best to fail you. 1st test average was 3/20.

Lectures are decent, he keeps his explanations simple. Problem is, he expects you to memorize everything coming out of his mouth just because it relates to engineering. EVERYTHING. Some of his info is either outdated or flat out misinterpreted too. His tests seem simple but can require some actual experience in the field to do well on.

The class is designed so that it is nearly impossible to self-teach, or otherwise reinforce what is taught in lectures. He acts like we should have known the material beforehand. He's well spoken, and lectures are very helpful, but there is not much you can do to prepare for his exams, other than remember every little thing that happens in class.

Wilkinson is a great lecturer however he is short sided in his view in human phycology. He stated in class " you are mechanical engineers, so it is somewhat like you your hobby, where you should naturally remember everything pertaining to engineering, you should come to class and absorb the material , you shouldn't have to study." AVOID THIS COURS

Worst class hands down. Outdated info. Ridiculous grading criteria. Impossible tests. I got an A-, missed an A by 1 POINT, not 1%, and he wouldnt bump me. His lectures are ridiculously detailed and you have to remember everything to even hope of getting a decent grade. He asks questions about his personal experiences, not just class material.

Avoid at all costs!! This is a 100% memorization class, and he will find any way to lower your grade. Makes you memorize everything, and even if you name 13/14 bolts for example you only get half credit! Do your site visit ASAP!! And read the rules very closely to not got docked. Also every absence/tardy is half a letter grade!

Write down everything he says in class, literally. Every missed class is a 6 point reduction which turns out to be a letter grade at the end of the semester.

The worst class I've taken at USF. Dr. W uses material from more than 3 textbooks making it very confusing. Also, he shows up late a lot and "wings" his lectures. Would not recommend. I think his age it getting the best of him.

He's never prepared to teach, first test average was 21%. 14/55 people had to drop because they got grades in the teens and bc of his grade scale. Take Paterson, much better prof.

Fun class. No math, formulas or HW. Memorization and identification are key since Dr. W goes over LOTS of terminology and processes. Numerous samples of manufactured parts are passed around each class. He does a very good job at explaining and illustrating the material. Pay close attention and be sure to read his handouts. Site visit was cool.

Very interesting to listen to and does a great job with illustrations on the white board. Passes around a lot of neat stuff too to look at. The test are straight from his lips. Everything he says...write down!!!!! 3 @ 100 points each. Max points is 300. Guaranteed 150 points is a B-.
