Comment:

Professor Silverstone graded immediately- for an online class that is AMAZING. She did a weekly Zoom chat and very clearly covered EXACTLY what she expected and how she wanted things done. If it wasn't done how she wanted it she made comments so you could improve. I think she was extremely helpful and I enjoyed learning from her.

She is unhelpful, plain and simple. I have never encountered a more unproductively critical professor in my years of schooling. She expects you to leap through hoops and even then is unimpressed. I would not recommend her as I feel I didd not learn much and it was a negative experience.

I don't know why there are so many negative comments. Those people probably aren't good writers, as this class requires good writing skills and research. She is a tough grader and has strict requirements/preferences. Overall she's fair and has an organized class structure. I felt I learned a lot and the final project was challenging.

Professor Silverstone is probably one of the most interactive and engaging, well organized and most on top of the class than any other professors I've taken at NU. She's quick with grades she does not give you an easy A! Make sure you cite, strict on plagiarism. Very clear on her expectations. Knows the subjects well and is well versed in them.

I was thoroughly disappointed with this professor. Not only was she inconsistent, she lacked the knowledge of the subject. She is completely out of touch with reality and is the worst professor I have ever encountered. She is condescending and rude. I received the lowest grade ever-a B+ with misc. nit-picking that was random. Avoid if you can.

Took me long enough to do this because I didn’t know that this site existed. Anyways, AVOID TAKING MARKETING WITH THIS PROFESSOR!!! SHE IS BY FAR THE WORST PROFESSOR YOU CAN POSSIBLY HAVE AND WHEN I SAY WORST PROFESSOR, I MEAN THAT LITERALLY!!! I HAVE WARNED YOU... AVOID THIS PROFESSOR THE BEST YOU CAN.. You have been WARNED!!

Dr. Silverstone is tough but fair. She has a tremendous knowledge of marketing and advertising. THIS IS NOT A "GIMME GRADE" CLASS. You have to work for it. Her standard are high and she make sure to reiterate her expectations many times throughout the class session. She presents her expectations in many forms. I hope to have her again.

Dr. Silverstone IS a very demanding professor. She IS impatient with those not keeping up with the class. She WILL deduct points for bad writing, but you will end up knowing more and writing better. She has been my favorite prof. at NU. I guess I like to be challenged.

The material covered in class is not difficult at all, but you have no idea what grade to expect when you submit an assignment. She gives only generic comments, assigns arbitrary grades (I got a 92.3 on one writing assignment??) and marks you down a LOT, doesn't tell you exactly why. I ended up with a B+, but only because I aced the exams.

Worst teacher I've had a National University. Received a 70 on my first homework assignment. Haven't received anything less than a 90 on assignments in any other class at NU. When I asked what I did wrong/where I fell short she simply said "you just have to do better" with no useful guidance. Very arrogant woman. Avoid. Ruined my 4.0

I have recently had this instructor again. She has improved a lot since I have read the last comments. It was evident she received feedback in some manner and has taken steps to adjust some behaviors. She does not come across as an armchair academic to me. I will have her again after the first of the year and I am actually looking forward to it

I had her for a Public Relations class several months ago and she was difficult. The material wasn't hard, it was her responses on papers. She was rude and used exclamation marks when she didn't like something I said, "YOU ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I hope I never have to have her again. She was not helpful or forthcoming with assistance.

Instructor does NOT lecture! Each student is required to lecture on one chapter. Expectations are unclear. If feedback is requested generic copy and paste comments are given. The way the class is conducted does not promote learning or success. Inconsistent and Unprofessional. A clear example of someone that should not be teaching.
