Comment:

Not only is she slow at grading, but she also accused me of not doing the reading nor the work in her class in a paper response. I asked for help beforehand, and there was nothing helpful it just left me more confused and I am someone who does pretty decent in papers. there seems to no consideration for the students struggling online.

Comment:

Dr. Royed is probably the worst prof Ive had so far at UA. She takes forever to grade (grades have been due and I still dont know my final) and shes very hard to reach outside of class. She is one of the hardest graders Ive ever had and her assignments are impossible unless youre a mind reader of exactly what she wants. Avoid at all costs.

Comment:

Dr. Royed is nothing like the page would have you believe. She's a phenomenal professor who has a vast wealth of knowledge about European politics. If you do the readings and participate in a meaningful way you'll be fine. She's highly responsive to questions, whether it be in-class or by email. By far the best professor I had in the department.

Every time I went to PSC 334 I almost passed out from boredom. Professor Royed doesnt care about her students and gets annoyed when they ask questions. Her lectures are presented like they would be in the 1950s with little to no enthusiasm. Im thankful that Covid moved classes online so I wont have to hear her boring monotone voice again.

Dr. Royed's lectures are a little dry but I think she's an overall good professor and I learned a lot in this class. My class had papers in lieu of tests and she gave really specific prompts and rubrics and graded off those 2 things specifically, so you're set up to do great if you follow her instructions.

She's not as bad as people make her out to be. The quizzes & tests aren't hard at all if you actually study, however the study guides she gives are a little bit lengthy since the tests are 15 multiple choice & 2 short essays, & she does take 3 weeks to give tests back which sucks. Just as long as you show up & pay attention, you'll do well

PSC334 is a waste of a semester. Royed doesn't care about you or 334. This is noticeable due to her apathy toward her students and her outdated, boring lectures. Royed reads off of slides and makes you cram a lot of info for hard quizzes and 3 exams (harshly graded). Shes an unpleasant and incompetent educator. Reading slides is not teaching.

By far the most boring professor I have ever had. Tests you on so much material it is nearly impossible to remember any of it. She also is unwilling to help in her office hours and seems to get aggravated when students ask questions.

Dr Royed is honestly one of the worst educators I've had over the course of my life. Her grading can be unfairly difficult and she takes three weeks to grade exams. In addition, she is dismissive to students asking questions, while being an extremely boring lecturer who does little other than reading off her slides/notes. Would not recommend.

Dr. Royed is honestly one of the worshippers teachers/professors I've had over the course of my educational career. Her grading is unfair and untimely, with points being deducted for the silliest reasons and tests not being returned until three weeks after they were taken. In addition, she is dismissive and condescending to students asking question

I would not recommend her class, very difficult tests and studying was close to impossible. Felt more confused on the state issues after learning them. Figuring out what you actually needed to study was horrible.

Was a hard grader and would put trick questions on basic quizzes. Would not help when I would show up to office hours and refused to put out. Sad!

Comment:

Dr. Royed is not as bad as some people make her out to be. She is actually a pretty good professor and literally goes over almost everything that will be on the test (you just need to skim (like a 300 class requires you to do) the book for the rest). Some people just dont want to work and that is why they dont do well. Go to class, pay attention!

Literally the WORST professor at UA. Her tests are extremely hard and she will not tell you what you need to know for them. There are few grades for her class so you must do well on the tests do to do well in the class. Would not recommend her or this class what so ever!

She can be very boring and her lectures can seem long but her tests aren't too bad. There is one essay and she grades fairly easy on it. She is also very knowledgeable about the EU and countries within it.

Assignments were way too interpretive and she is extremely unlikely to be helpful via email or even office hours. Material given is inadequate, and I agree with a previous post on here, she has the tendency to just dismiss students responses in class. Classes are very dull too.

The absolute worst teacher I have ever had. Very inconsiderate of students time, constantly late to class, and dismissed students comments/opinions. Extremely dull teaching style as she read graphs she copy and pasted form the internet. They served no purpose. Very argumentative when you challenged her on a subject. I would stray far away

Dr Royed knows a lot about her field and she's helpful one-on-one, but her lectures can be pretty dry and her grading can be tough. Had her for a W course so there were only essays. Workload was manageable but she doesn't hand out high grades easily so you need to put in a lot of work. Felt like I put more into the class than I got out off it.

The test have absolutely nothing to do with the material given and are unnecessarily difficult. She is extremely dry and made an interesting subject (E.U) boring. The only good thing about this class is that it is possible to pass and she gives extra-credit.

Worst teacher Ive ever taken at UA!! DO NOT TAKE HER!! Worst essay grader ever, is very unclear on material for tests, and is so boring!! Her tests were incredibly hard & her essays were even worse!!
