Terrible teacher doesnt give a dam about his students, his idea of teaching is to give you home work and then teach you how to do after you get a bad grade. Cant wait to get out of this class so frustrating.

He definitely knows what he is talking about. His CIS120 focuses mostly on the computer operation. The majority of the class is lecture and quite boring. He is extremely intelligent on this subject and has a lot of experience in the field. He does not focus on hands on programming in as much detail.

Comment:

120 deals with a lot of logic. If you don't have a logical brain, it's hard to understand. Terry is an instructor more suited to students who are already vaguely familiar with programming. He doesn't hold you back. He's amusing and has worked in the field. Gives real-world advice. If you're a beginner/confused, I recommend a different teacher.

Mr. Troxell's methods were frustrating at the beginning of the semester. Never had a class where homework is assigned BEFORE you how to do it. Homework is supposed to be practice, right? Well,it's a lesson about programming in his class. Sink or swim! Overall, this class was a good experience & I would recommend it if you want to try programming.

Always upbeat and smiling. He made an early class a very bearable one. I enjoyed this class very much. His descriptions of things might be a little vague, but if you ask him, he'll explain things. I recommend him!

This teacher sucks, he is demeaning to the students if they have a problem or late work. He is constantly telling us how he throws away our homework. I quite frankly hate going to class and have a bad grade because I missed 2 classes, missing 4 assignments. Ridiculous. I wouldn't take him if he was the last computer professor on earth!

AWESOME TEACHER! I can't emphasize that enough. I love his class and his teaching. He is somewhat lenient, but not so much he lets his students walk all over him. He is friendly and really nice. I highly reccomend him. You will learn a LOT from his class. If you love Computers, you will love taking class with him. He is great.

If accounting is interesting to you, Troxell is amazing. Things aren't explained that well, but aren't that hard to figure out. I really enjoyed his class. Would take him again in a heartbeat.

Mr. Troxell is one of the worst teachers I've ever had the misfortune to meet! I was in his Accounting class for about 3 - 4 and was failing... switched classes and instantly started comprehending. Doesn't explain things clearly at all, and if you ask a question he just raises his voice to repeat what he just said ...Not helpful at all!!

Okay, this guy is nice, but he is so boring! The main problem I have with him though is that 90% of the material in tests is from the book rather than lecture. This wouldn't be a problem if he didn't jump around in our 2 textbooks so much that you cannot tell which chapters to study.

Felt like he had attitude of if you don't understand, then you don't belong here. Found his instruction hard to understand. Assigned more than 50 programming projects besides beginning basics, tests, comprehensive final project, and final test. And the assignments take more than an hour each. So very time consuming.

At times he is so confusing he confuses himself. And at other times he is amazing. I found myself spending several hours on assignments that could of taken less time if it was explaned. Tricky questions on tests, hard to know how to prepare.

Mr. Troxell was a pretty good teacher. Good sense of humor, goes over programming aspects in detail, deffinately NOT a fluff class, but worth it if you really want to learn the basic aspects of programming. Better than some other programming professors.
