Isn't the best at explaining concepts. leans heavily on the book. seems to care little for students. not really a teacher, more of an overseer watching students drop left and right. almost seemed like his goal.

nice guy but really boring lectures. He also tries to make this class much harder than it should be, especially on the written part of the exams, where he is very nit-picky. Overall though not too bad if you pay attention.

Prolly the most boring teacher in the world. this class seems to drag on forever so bring the caffeine. Tests were fairly easy though usually drawing pictures for most questions so class wasn't to bad although dont expect any excitement

tests are hard especially the excel one which normally everyone fails.. projects are an easy 100.. if you go to his office hours and ask him questions you will get a better grade

ridiculous to say the least. apathetic and practically no extra help. i actually liked csap until this class. gives you a program to figure out your final grade, but apparently it doesn't work cause everyone's grade is much lower than what it tells us. unless you already know java, DROP THIS CLASS NOW!

I dont know if it's him or the class but this was hard if you know,every peice of,excel,access,and can learn quick by yourself about alternete opperating systems you will be fine if not your done.he doesnt teach its you doing exercises in the book without enought time to do it and comprehend so you rush to finish and know nothing for the test.

Engineering majors stay away! Unless you're already knowledgable at JAVA (the other classes take C++, an easier language), you will get "cooked". He teaches engineers separately, and he gave half the class a C- or lower (including a few Fs). HORRIBLY unclear about quizzes, you won't be prepared. Stay away, unless you're not an engineering major.

awesome! all my other fellow math/sci. majors hated their comp sci. class. this was so easy. we were the only class to use a different book. it was like comp programming for dummies aka me. easy A, quizzes once a week, look over your vocab and youll do fine. actually fun to create these programs.

Easy teacher, do the quizes, assignments, and in the news reports and you'll be fine. he tells you what is on the quizes they aren't cumalitive, and the final paper is simple questions and a small essay... take him the only way u could fail is if u never went.

While it's true that he is boring (maybe it's just the material) he is an excellent teacher. Class is simple as long as you do the work. Most of your grade is broken down into quizzes that are straight from the notes so it's easy to bounce back from a bad grade.

He is dry, very monotonic. He leaves a lot out of his class, like major objectives in similar courses held elsewhere. Spent too much time conforming new ideas to an existing example. His published book has a bad rating on amazon dot com for a reason.
