Comment:

I had him for career exploration and was expecting a pretty easy A. It was an easy class but was honestly a lot of reading articles and random busy work. However, I did end up changing my major and figuring out my career, so the class was a success!

Comment:

Tyler is a pretty tough grader, and the class was definitely harder than a usual STDEV class. My friend took the same class from a different professor and had way less work than I did. He does really make you think and you can tell he's a psych major. I learned a lot from him and he's a pretty funny guy. Not too hard, but harder than I expected.

Mr. Pedersen is a great guy; he's real with you and aims to help each individual student. Wouldn't recommend this class if you're looking for an easy A. He is a strict grader--people rarely get above a 95 on mentor interviews or projects. The assigned hw can be time consuming, gives you long articles you have to read/respond to. Did learn a lot tho

Tyler is awesome. I enjoyed coming to class and having discussions. He is someone who is very open, honest, and willing to help you. His class is really helpful and easy. Take this class from Tyler!

I loved Tyler, he is super personable, helpful, and can be an invaluable tool for your self-discovery. He felt more like a big brother than a professor. He grades a little harder than I was expecting, but if you remember to do all the assignments (I didn't), and do your best on them, you shouldn't have a problem getting an A.

Great teacher as far as talking in class goes. He is a terrible grader. He grades like an English professor and yet has tons of mistakes throughout his own assignments. He cares less about what you learn and more about him being in charge.

Tyler Pedersen is more concerned about your future and what major and career makes you successful than any grade or anything like that. The only people who would leave bad reviews are those who were not willing to put in the effort. He helped me see what majors and careers I would exceed in. Great professor.

Tyler is a great teacher. Completely disregard the reviews that say otherwise. If anybody ever said that Tyler wasn't a helpful teacher, it's not because of anything he did wrong; it's because the student didn't expect to work. Tyler gives you a healthy amount of material to read and research in order to find out what career you may want. Swag!

Does make you do good work, and apply the things you learn, but as long as you do that you will do fine grade-wise and can a learn a ton about what you wanna do. Doesn't spoon feed you info, makes you learn it on your own. Funny. laptop/phone policy is a little rough

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! Huge mistake if you do. Most pointless class. If you got sick of those really boring High School classes that were extremely boring then you will feel like a freshmen in High School again. He would be a good English teacher because he talks forever and only cares about the grammar in you paper. Worst 2hrs ever on Mondays!

He's a really great teacher for this class. I love the enthusiasm he has. This class does require you to put some effort in, and he designs the assignments to really help you dig in and find things out for yourself. All of the assignments are helpful in developing life skills as well as exploring careers. Loved it. Great teacher. Take it!

Tyler is a great fit for this class. He treats it like a real job, so yes there is a lot of work and he grades hard. It is good for you. Very enjoyable person and he seems to enjoy his students. I highly recommend it.

Tyler taught me a lot of things about careers that are extremely important to now, and yet not very well known. He's really good at what he does. Just take Career Exploration even if you don't take it from him. It really does help. But Tyler is awesome so take from him if you can :)

I loved this class! Tyler is laid back and easy going. He's really funny too. Take this class, it helped me figure what i wanted to do with my life.

I think this class might have been helpful if I wouldn't have taken it from Tyler. He isn't good with structure and he doesn't care about his students. He is very knowledgeable, but a very unfair grader and apathetic. If you take this class take someone else

Tyler is a good guy but he's not a very good professor. I agree that he is cynical. I kind of thought this class was a waste of time. The only work that I enjoyed was the job shadowing but I could have done all these things on my own. If you are looking for a filler class and don't mind busy work, then take this class.

I wasn't a big fan of this class, I thought it was a waste of time. It is an easy A just go to class and do the work. I thought that all we did was busy work. Tyler is very cynical and I don't remember him once incorporating the gospel in class.

I have thoroughly enjoyed Tyler's class. He has been SO helpful in shaping my career path and others. Class is never boring and I learn every time. All the work done is beneficial to the student, that is, it's not busy work. Who knows, it could change your life; it probably has to mine.
