The class is based solely on memorization. There a bunch of study questions that you have to memorize for the midterm and final. One midterm, one final. Lots of extra opportunities but still not enough. He is very passionate about the subject he teaches though, which leads to pretty interesting lectures. Oh and you need to attend lecture for EC.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS BELOW, you NEED to attend class. He includes a ton of questions from his lectures on exams now. You need to do the study questions from reading + attend lectures in order to pass. It's a lot of work with the weekly homework. Lectures are boring and seem irrelevant to the reading, sadly.

Actually found this class really interesting..best advice i can give is do the study questions and memorize them. Don't worry a ton about the reading just whatever questions come from it, and make sure you have the right answers. I went to his office hours and it was super helpful

Extremely boring lecture. He gives you a TON of information to memorize. I felt a bit overwhelmed with how much information was covered. I am great at memorization classes, and this was still too much. Although you have many of the questions to prepare in advance, there are LOTS. I would never take him again, but that's just me.

This class was not a hard class at all. Attend lectures and get up to 10 extra credit points. He gives study guide questions which are basically the exam questions. He even sets aside two lectures where you can ask him questions from the guide. If you didn`t get an A, you didn't study enough the study guide enough.

Very easy class. Not sure what class these other 120H students took, but all the test questions were on the study guide. If you get below an A on the midterms it's simply because you didn't study the study guide enough. Lecture is somewhat mandatory since many study guide questions come from it. Got an A with very little effort.

He is one of the easiest professors I've had at UCI. I've taken him for the HPS and the Psych History class and got A+'s both times. He GIVES you all the exam questions BEFORE the exam... It doesn't get much easier than that. Lecture is mandatory though since many test questions are directly from lecture.

i found that his history of psych class was easier, but a bit dull. problem solving was actually pretty fun and interesting. he assigned hw once a week, mostly through EEE. he also gives you a studyguide for the tests

The professor himself is a very nice/likeable person. His lectures ARE boring, and I never went to class except to take exams. Just make sure you keep up with answering ALL the study questions and memorize the hell out of those, and you can definitely get an A

His lectures are EXTREMELY dull. only 20% of class showed up for lectures. he gives you study questions that are on the test. just do those questions and you'll be fine. very little book usage, except to answer some Qs and for the extra credit questions. REALLY EASY CLASS if you stay on top of the questions.

Horribly boring class. I went into it thinking it was gonna be very cool but it ends up being very closely tied to logic and the fact that he's has a focus in history of psych leaks through to the classwork and makes the class even worse. Do practice questions for exam and you'll get an A. Homework is hard.

He uses powerpoint now! If you answer the review questions & know them by heart, you will do well. His class is pretty dry, but it is not as hard to do well as some of the other comments have made it sound. I got an A!
