His lectures are long and can be hard to understand and follow sometimes. He repeats concepts from the previous class at the beginning of each class to remind you what last happened. For the online class, he held office hours before and after class and offered homework help to anyone who wanted it.

He is a nice guy overall and loves questions so he can go on tangents but as a professor he doesn't necessarily explain the answer. He goes more into theory and not actually how to solve a problem. For me this was hard to follow especially since it was a physics class where you need math. Him focusing on theory made me confused during lectures.

Do not get me wrong: He's a great person, one on one and everything. But the lectures..... waste of my time since I didn't understand what was happening anyway. You should pray that you get lucky with a good TA. If not, lol good luck!

If you're not a good test taker, this class isn't for you the final is 40% of your grade, midterm 20% and quizzes 30%. The homework is so much harder than the quizzes, but it's only 10% of the grade. However, if you miss 2 or more assignments he lowers you a letter grade. If you're in APHY140, Lanford is the only teacher, so good luck, work hard!

DONT TAKE HIM! Lml dont even waste ya time ! Hes beyond terrible ! Just be chatting in class and nobody knows whats going on . He provides no study guides, extra credit, or NO GUIDE ON HOW TO DO HOMEWORK.

Dr. Lanford is nice, but he goes really fast in lecture. His mantra is to "master the homework so you master the class." However, the midterm questions mostly consisted of material he went over in class. TAKE PICTURES OF HIS SLIDES SO YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO COPY IN- CLASS EQUATIONS! Has quizzes every week in discussion, one midterm and one final.

horrible just horrible. he doesn't explain anything and expects you to be an expert. he just uses a projector, and sometimes he completely missed the camera so we are all staring at his hand and NO WORK. not a teacher-just an expert in his field and let me tell ya it doesn' help us as students. 0/10

The worst class ever. Didn't learn anything in lectures. Went way too fast through his notes in class that I could never read. Caused me so much unnecessary stress for a class I just needed to get out of the way. 0/10 Do not recommend.

Terrible lectures. Doesnt introduce concepts properly and doesnt give time to copy down notes. He hand writes everything on a projector and its extremely illegible. He refuses to upload copies of class notes on blackboard, and with no textbook, if you miss Information in class you'll never see it again until the test.

Literally does not explain what he is doing in class. He just does problems like he is doing his own work and excepts the students to be able to understand and follow him. Its funny hes surprised when people get clicker questions wrong.

I never really understand anything he's teaching. Only way I was able to pass this class is from my TA in discussion. I wouldn't recommend taking him, but he's most likely your only choice for APHY140, so good luck.

Bit of a boring class, as he isn't very engaging as a professor. Although he does seem to care about his subject, he isn't great at conveying concepts and implications of formulas. Overall, he was meh.

He speeds through his slides during lecture, I wouldnt even attempt to bring a paper and pencil to class, just my phone to take pictures of the slides. Reading the book helped me a lot more than lecture. The homework problems were 30% more difficult than quiz and exam problems. The final is worth 40% of your grade.

Goes way too fast. Throws equations here and there. Doesn't do examples to help us understand the material. Literally speeds through homework problems by explaining how he does them. Quizzes make zero sense. Just awful

He is completely different than when I had him in APHY140. I honestly hated him but had to take him again because of scheduling and no not regret it at all. He taught in a small classroom and really went through making sure we understood every lecture. The homework was a little tedious but learned a lot with it along with the in class assignments.

I had a decent amount of classmates think that he was unclear but I realized after the midterm that it was all clicking easier. his quizzes are pretty easy if you just utilize the formula sheet. the midterm was very similar to practice midterms he gave us as well. The class was bad so he dropped the two lowest quizzes which saved my quiz grade.

He doesn't teach, expects you to understand with "this and that"s, pointing and shouting. Doesn't use the book. If you do bad on weekly quizzes you may have a hard time but he gives another quiz if the class doesn't do well(all count towards grade however). If you try to pay attention in class it helps. Mainly googled up all the info myself.

He spends all lecture time rambling, almost to himself, about seemingly random formulas and equations and does not offer explanation as to what those formulas are for. When asked, he responds with more formulas. Avoid this professor if possible, he cares very little for student success and does a very poor job teaching the material.

He explains things well although his handwriting isn't the greatest.
