Tough class, but he is there for you every step of the way! Would definitely take another class with him if I got the chance. Random attendance quizzes, do the homework (EASY POINTS), study the homework and past tests (which he gives you) for the exam. Do not know how it happened, and I am very thankful for coming out of this class with a B.

I did move closer to listen through his accent, he does put a lot of what is on the test in the PowerPoint slides, but it is also from the hmwk. Extremely nice in office hours even if he is a little intimidating, I think it's cause he's tall; ask questions and do the hmwk. Tests are challenging if you don't review the powerpoints and homework.

Lectures often long & confusing; says one thing but means another (Eng not 1st language). Very "grumpy" during exam reviews, sometimes makes students feel dumb during office hours (know a few people that he's actually insulted). HELPFUL HW's for every chapter, 4 exams none dropped, final not cumulative. Personally did not enjoy this class or prof.

One of the better professors in the department. He is always there to answer your questions, which you should ask because he doesn't make you feel stupid. Tests made you think but were completely fair. Going to the study sessions before exams will help your grade immensely. Show up to class and do the homework and you should pass no problem.

Attendance is occasionally taken for credit in an unpredictable fashion. He just goes over the slides (which lack detail) in lecture. Mandatory third-party homework website. Bad book. Poorly organized curriculum (poor flow). Tests on factoids of larger concepts. Course lacks focus on depth of basic concepts. I expected better from ASU CHMBCH dept.

Great teacher. Gives out old exams as practice, but don't only study those! He likes to throw in tricky questions, but if you study you will do fine. Sometimes his power points can be confusing or lacking in explanation. Go to office hours! He will explain everything one on one until you understand it. Go to class everyday to get "pop quiz" points.

Exams aren't as bad as they're made out to be. He's an avg lecturer at best. He should work on clarity for difficult topics in the course. My biggest problem with him is that he never understands student questions. He seems to dodge them and respond how he wants to. However, he can be very helpful to students academically and professionally.

At the beginning of the semester I had high hopes in doing well in this course based on previous reviews. Some of the exams included questions that were only there to throw you off and trick you. The homeworks were incredible grade boosters in the course, although the TA in this course at the time was essentially useless.

Not sure if this class is meant to weedout but this guys tests are ridiculous. I get that its supposed to be challenging but his questions are just meant to trick you, not evaluate your understanding of the material so if you are good at test taking strategy you will probably do well but if you like biochemistry I would take it with another teacher

A good lecturer. However, dont expect to get a good grade on an exam, even if you know the material well. He likes to focus his questions on the details that arent really important in undergrad BCH. I would recommend Kevin Redding instead.

Dr F is great but pay attention. He will not hold your hand but he is absolutely helpfull. Don't try to manipulate him for answers or points or he will shut you down. I think he is an awesome professor but I can see how some might take him the wrong way.

I enjoyed the class overall. Francisco does give pop quizzes which are fairly simple, so it is recommended that you go to class. Online homework is cake and the exams make you think but are very manageable. Francisco puts together a better lecture series than Redding

What a useless prof this guy is. I absolutely abhor instructors like him. I hope some day he realizes that what he teaches in class has not much to do with real world science as far as practical application and being a scientist is concerned! The exams are ridiculous, what a joke. Designed to make to fail and not really learn.

Dr. Francisco was never rude to me, but rude to many people. If you ask a 'dumb' question, be ready to be humiliated. His tests were extremely analytical and very hard to do well on in 50min. In other words, you must be able to critically APPLY everything in the notes super fast to do well on the tests. I got 60's on his tests, 80s-90s on lohrs

BEWARE! Dr. Fransisco plays favorites, and its never a female! I would stay away from him, but unfortunately it is not possible. Homework and quizzes will sace your grade, because the tests are so different than his power point notes! READ READ READ!

The wording of the tests was questionable (his English is good, not great). Seemed fairly nice and fairly helpful. Posted his Power Point notes, a study guide for the second test, old tests, and the answers to problems from the text. He gave one (5 point) extra credit assignment because test grades were low. I scored much higher on Lohr's tests.

He's a laid back, very likeable guy. You study right off his powerpoint notes, although it's beneficial to go through the book to make sure you understand the concepts. I found the optional assignments extremely helpful as well. His exams can be tough but there are no surprises. Our class average was lower on his exams than Dr. Lohr's.

also had him in a smaller setting for BCH 465 (do not take it!!!). he was great for both but of course Dr Lohr ruins the class that Francisco begins... He is very nice and helpful but make sure you do well in his half of the class cuz Lohr is GLAD to fail everyone!
