I've had Dr. Stralka for 144 and a reading course. He's probably my favorite professor on campus. He's very friendly, concerned about your progress if you make yourself visible, has a great sense of humor, and though he sometimes comes up with explanations that are confusing at first, he will patiently walk you through them until you understand.

one of the best math professors at UCR. Funny, clear, and extremely helpful in office hours. he makes sure you know the answers to your question before you leave his office. he has that "old man" humor that works well in his lectures and office hours. as long as your scores are successively higher, you will pass without a problem.

Stralka is funny. He makes math interesting by introducing the apperently ever popluar "space aliens" (9A) and now porcupines and milk toast... Plus, as long as you get higher scores on each successive test, you'll easily pass.

After taking Prof. Ran for 9B, I appreciated Prof. Stralka a lot better. I think his lecture is very boring and confusing. However, if you come to his office, Dr. Stralka is very nice and explains the concept very clearly. I guess he just finds teaching lower division boring year after year.

Great teacher. Helps students and makes lectures entertaining. Knows what he is talking about. He is good at making examples that are easily understood to illustrate mathematical concepts, but you have to ask him, he usually just expects that everyone understands so ask for examples. Recommend!

At first his class was hard. As I got into it and went to TA discussions, it wasn't that hard anymore. This professor is actually one of the best math prof. This class made me learn alot. It was not at all like high school calculus. I brought up my D to an A at the end of fall quarter last year.

If you have had calculus in high school before, you will find this course very easy...you still need to do homework though...he makes things harder than they really are by not explaining the easy way of doing things.
