She's okay. Not super hard, not super easy. Lectures aren't bad but there's definitely more interesting teachers out there, mostly because she's very timid.

Her lecture does not help much for the exams, does not go over the vocabularies that are on the exam...maybe like 3 out of 40 vocabs she would mention during the lecture (literally)

Soft spoken but has a lot of knowledge to share. drink coffee before this class! read the chapters it helps a lot on the test. more interested in the time period over the artists.

Comment:
this class is a french history class more than art history. she seemed more enthusiastic towards the end, but until the final 2 weeks, all she did was lecture about the artists and history instead of the artwork itself. i think all the 19th c classes are like that though, so maybe its not just her.

he lecture classes are not very useful to what we are tested on. The entire class setup is struggling to stay awake in class then the night before any tests you just memorize a bunch of slides and vocab.

Professor Kurtz obviously knows a great deal about art history and it shows in her teaching. I'll agree with the poster above who sadi writing the artists' names on the board is a GREAT help!!

This teacher allows you to know what will be found on the midterm and final. The lists of artists etc put on the chalkboard help a great deal and allow the student to study ahead of time. Take this teacher, she is great.

Boring, she reads word for word from the book. She also screwed me over when my grandfather died and I had to miss the midterm. If you email her for help due to an extremely emotional situation, don't count on a reply.
