Dr. Russel is a little eccentric. He is a very traditional instructor so DO NOT GET ON YOUR CELL PHONE!!! At the beginning of the semester he hands out the technology policy. YOU MUST FOLLOW IT. He warns throughout the semester, but once he has had enough (by week 10 for me) he will THROW YOU OUT OF CLASS... Pretty easy. READ, SHOW UP, PASS.

His lectures are boring, he's very dis-organized, and he's bad about getting papers and tests back to you. He also treats his students like they're still in high school.. Read the book, try to stay awake in class, and stay off your phone!

Andy is a fine instructor, however there are things that may bother you if you take his class. After taking his class for an entire year I saw basically no problem with him from an instructor standpoint, he gets his job done. However he has a strict anti-phone policy which if that bugs you then don't take his class. Its not a hard class.

This professor is nothing but straight lectures. You don't need to pay attention in his class, but you do NEED to read the materials before time. I hate him as a professor and would never take his class again. He does not let you leave class and is very strict on cell phone use. He does not give papers back right away and doesn't update online.

Terrible. Do not take this instructor. Lectures are long dry and monotone. He mumbles and loses his train of thought and is very unorganized. Papers are rarely returned in a timely manner. He contradicts the textbooks facts based on other books he has read that aren't assigned to students. tip to passing: stay awake.

A. Russell was good. He knows what he's talking about, so listen!!!! He may seem boring and a bit monotone, but he's great. His class was pretty easy. Make sure you read everything he assigns you. Not to many homework assignments. You must come to class to hear his lectures.

Sooo Boring!!! He's all over the place. He's very hard to keep up with at times. He mumbles, talks to himself, and twitches during his lectures. I regret taking his class, he ruined US History for me!

Secrets to pass his course - READ the books. Listen to his lectures - even if you think they are boring, he covers everything that he wants you to know in the class. Get to know him. He is a great guy. Kind of quirky but aren't we all?

Andy is awesome! Get to know him and talk to him. While the lectures are boring at times, pay attention because 90% of the test material he will go over in class. He is hard about cell phones because I have seen him catch 2 cheaters using them.

OMG.. so Boring and DRY. He also changed topics too much. Can't stay focused on what he is talking about. So don't ask any questions or off he goes. Good about him EXTRA CREDIT is available. I am a history major and NEVER take him again.

Andy is an awesome teacher. Sometimes the material can be dry and boring but he really tries to get your buy in on the infomation. Showed many interesting videos and was very very knowledgeable. He def. wants you to succeed and if you are willing to put in the effort, so is he!

Dr. Russell was an excellent instructor. Lectures were interesting, homework was appropriate (if a little easy), tests were easy, should have given more quizzes. He is VERY helpful and genuinely supportive of motivated students. He WILL make fun of you in class if you're an unapologetic slacker, although he gave ample bonus point opportunities

Dr. Russel I thought was a good instructor. He can be hard to follow at times but he knows his stuff. As long as you read and do the work you will pass. And his tests are pretty tough if you don't study. And he's a hard grader

He actually makes an effort to get everyone excited with his oral history project and his book discussions. I had a lot of fun with my oral history project!! His class includes some videos as well. Studying for the tests was intense but I did learn a LOT. Even though he has a PhD., he is not narcissistic at all. I plan to take his classes more. :)
