Prof Gonzalez is good professor and she cares about her students. I took her for core bio 1 but I suggest taking intro to chem before bio so you understand the concepts better. Lots of students that got a higher grades took chem previously. She teaches mostly through lectures and you have to read the rest in the textbook. Little extra credit given.

Dr Gonzalez is a fantastic professor and one of the best I've had so far. She is warm and cares about her students but also professional and shows a complete mastery of all subjects covered in class. Dr Gonzalez makes class and lab interesting and is great at giving explanations in a way that are informative yet easy to understand.

Dr. Gonzalez is one of the best professors at SFC! She is not only extremely helpful outside of class, she will take the time to review the more difficult topics that are in class. She provides extra credit opportunities as well. Be prepared to study and dedicate yourself to the material in this class and you will do just fine!

Dr. Gonzalez is passionate and knowledgeable about biology, and she is happy to help you outside of class if you need her. However, her class is hard, and you have to be willing to study and actually learn the material to succeed in her class. The active learning classes help make the material easier to understand, so definitely attend them.

Prof. Gonzalez is amazing; however I do regret taking BIO 1 online. Labs were easy, some labs were dedicated to explaining hard concepts. She also provides a workbook that's inside the lab book to help you study. Tests are easy if you study. Homework is online and weekly. Very easy to get at least a B, easy A. Attendance for labs is mandatory.

Core Bio is not a walk in the park. You are going to have to actually read and study. Her slides condenses and makes the material much more manageable. I took the online version with in class lab. She is more than willing to help with any questions. Tons of extra credit if you need it. I did not, but still did it because it was super easy.

Best teacher I've ever had. I had her for Biology and for her Research class this semester. Go to her office hours, pay attention in lecture, study the slides religiously and don't read the book unless she tells you to! I had her for online class and lab was on Fridays. It was fairly hard and you have to prioritize and make time for this class.

I found the class to be great! Professor Gonzalez makes it fun and interesting and makes you want to do research. Class is composed of talks and making a resume and I found the talks to be really interesting. Definitely would recommend if you're interested in doing research or into biology!

I honestly did not find the class very helpful for research and future possibilities. The only thing that was kind of helpful was her showing us how to write a resume (which you learn in student dev classes) and UF professors giving talks on their past researches. Attend class or she might fail you.

Keep up with the online homework and quizzes, it will help with your tests. There are 3 exams and 1 final, but she draws questions from a large pool which leads to questions being random and not over the majority of what you studied. Sometimes tests are detailed other times they are more about ex. Labs are easy, just do the work, it's not much.

(Hybrid course) BUY THE TEXTBOOK. It will absolutely save your life. The labs and homework as very easy; it's nearly impossible to get a bad grade on any of them. The tests are brutal. I studied for 3 weeks for one test and still received a 65. Biology is difficult, she does her best to make it clear, but the tests are still unreasonably difficult.

I took Prof. Gonzalez online wlab on campus. Core Bio 1 is NOT an easy class, I saw many students drop, we went from 25 to 10 students at the end. However, Prof. Gonzalez is extremely helpful and gives very good study material! The tests are a bit tough to be expected, but if you devote study time you should do well. I honestly was inspired by her

Biology is EXTREMELY difficult for me, but she made it better for me. Homeworks are pretty much experimental reports and video assignments, and they have the biggest weight (40%), so that's good if you can easily get 100s or 90s on them. That definitely helped me pass the class. She's willing to help you with anything, just send her the email.

Took her online. Labs on campus. You pretty much teach yourselves but she guides us well by emphasizing important details. Her PowerPoint notes are organized. Her tests are VERY comprehensive. Don't miss labs and do all of her quizzes on time. Responds to emails quick. Core Biology is not meant to be easy. For eager learners, highly recommended!

Great teacher! Very organized & clear about expectations. Tests are quite comprehensive but she makes sure you know what to study. I took the hybrid & it was fine but if you can take the normal class do that. Tips: prepare for labs before class, labs & mastering bio boost your grade; study lectures, book & labs. Best science prof I've taken!!

Dr. Gonzalez is a tough teacher. Her tests are challenging as you need to know an excessive amount of material frontward and backward. I'd say around 65% of our class has dropped. I have an A, but I've put forth considerably more effort than in any other class I've taken. To pass: attend class, read the PowerPoints, read the labs, read your notes.
