Comment:

He is a great professor with a lot of clinical experience. He will give real world examples that help you get a better feel for what working in psychology might be like. Because of his background in behaviorism, he's a bit of a control freak, so be ready to be corrected a lot. Tests are based on the lecture, and the slides aren't dependable.

His examples are outrageous, but memorable. His exams are multiple choice and T/F and are easy. Would give him a higher rating but will call on you whether you want to participate or not so pay attention. He is funny sometimes, because he does not know how to work the internet. After 2 absences, you will start to lose points. DO NOT get the book.

We had 3 exams. Almost everything about him is unprofessional. His exams are multiple choice and true and false. The format was not something I was use to but I don't think his exams are that hard. He really always wants to help. He LOVES role playing. He's very monotone but I got use to it. He sometimes takes attendance. No need to buy the book.

Best Psychology Professor at UNLV. He uses his real life academic and personal experiences and always engages the class. He truly cares about his students.

He is very knowledgeable in the field and has a research lab on campus. He covers a lot of material in class and uses a lot of in class examples that are helpful. He is very clear when teaching. Be careful, he covers some aspects quickly that may be big in exams. While going to class is mandatory, study the powerpoins more in depth to do well.

He was okay. Class was easy b/c your grade was based on 3 non-cumulative exams (it used to be just 2!). That's it. We didn't use the textbook/case studies. I didn't really enjoy his lectures because he rambles on forever for one PowerPoint slide. The guy likes to talk. I went because he gives extra credit for attendance.

Funny and very descriptive when he lectures. Exams are not difficult and you can get away with not buying the textbook. The only issue is that he doesn't teach in a way that sticks with you after you're done with the topic. When you leave class, all you learned stays in the room. Bad for people who have issues solo studying or want to retain info.

LOVES discussions, role-playing, and providing anecdotes. Tells you exactly what will be on his exams. Extra credit for attendance. Funny guy. Has lots of experience in the field so he can clarify a lot of questions. Sometimes spends too much time on one subject but eventually moves forward productively. Engages the class with questions a lot.

This was a great summer class. 4 exams, no paper, no homework so I still got to enjoy my summer. Study for exams and attend class and you'll do great. He's very helpful and encourages class participation.

Encourages class participation. Very helpful with students, answers questions. Seems laid back etc but dont be fooled, his exams are not easy, you only have a midterm and a final for your grades, so KNOW your stuff. Other than that I highly recommend him and would take him again.

This teacher is awful. The notes do not match the book, he teaches from an outdated DSM (unethical btw)and the test questions have nothing to do with the lectures or the book. I am a 4.0 student and studied at least 20hrs for his final and still was unprepared. He's worthless as a teacher and I question his credentials as a psychologist.

Professor reminds me of Brad Pitt but slightly longer face. He's cute! Very helpful, demonstrates well, has a calm soothing direct voice, not intimidating, and communicates well in class and via e-mails, gives notes, but show up to class for extra new info, fair grader, and funny.

Dr "know it all" is a pretty good professor. As long as you agree with everything that he says you should be fine. And stroke his ego a little bit, make him think that he is the smartest person you know and you will do fine in his class. Do not buy the book, his midterm and final are all drawn from his lecture notes which you can print off your own

Very confusing lecturer, inconsiderate, lazy in course development. Used textbook & notes from 6 yrs ago--notes weren't even consistent with textbook or new research. Only taught one perspective, and only those interventions he uses. Often late & unprepared for class then held class over b/c he couldn't concisely state his point. NOT all that hot!

Final grade is based on midterm, final, and group presentation... all very easy. He gives you the notes, so all you have to do is follow along. It makes it a lot easier to retain information. But beware, role playing is a major part of this course! You may have to pretend that you are an un-potty trained 3 year old. It's entertaining, though.

interesting class, amazing professor, you can tell he has a passion for what he does. if i ever had a kid that needed counseling he would be exactly the type of counselor i would want. tests are fairly easy as well
