Comment:

She does not care if you learn the material at all. I asked for help on the material since I did not understand, and she told me to study harder and deal with it because she was not going to post herself lecturing. She posted "narrated" powerpoints that just read the words on the slides, and the rest of the coursework is on connect. LAZY!!!

Took this class Winter quarter, and ended up failing. Took it with a different professor this quarter, and got an A. Don't feel like I need to say anything else.

Had her online. Tbh can't say anything about her. Seems nice over email. Her Connect assignments are due before class though which is annoying. The reading didn't prepare you for the quizzes nor homework either. All in all, figure it out yourself and you'll get a decent grade.

The actual worst. Completely inaccessible both in and out of the class. Does not really matter how hard you try, if you are not a good test taker she will fail you in a heartbeat. Some bonus hear and there but not really enough to make much of a difference. If you don't love accounting, rethink taking her

Was really skeptical since most of my peers told me to avoid her. I passed the class easily just by showing up to class, doing well on pop quizzes/bonus quizzes and being on top of the homework. Lectures are straight out of textbook, read in advance and you will do fine. She's very passionate about the class, do not hesitate to ask her questions!

Get ready to teach yourself. What she goes over in class is not on the test. She references the heavily. She does give pop quizzes as well. Try to avoid if possible. She does give some bonus points once in a while.

Unfortunately, Shaver is the only professor for 304. Don't skip class because she gives random quizes for bonus. Go to all the bonus opportunities, they will save your grade. She literally reads from the book and does examples from the book and the information she gives is hardly ever on the tests. Just be ready to teach yourself...

Absolutely terrible. She won't clearly answer questions, she doesn't offer much help when it comes to test materials. She says she doesn't care if you come to class or not but gives pop quizzes that you can't make up if you miss. She is only an auditory lecturer. If you want to pass, be prepared to learn everything by yourself.

Worst teacher at Tech, because she doesn't teach anything, you will have to teach everything to yourself. If you don't seriously love accounting, you'll fail or drop. Unfortunately, you'll have to take her if you're an accounting major. The SUA was terrible because she doesn't explain it, and her tests are nothing like what she "teaches" in class.

Had seven tests over the quarter, and the class average often hovered around 65 to 70 for each test. No curve on them either. You could skip class every day and literally be just as well off, because all she does is expect you to do is to teach yourself everything. Her stupid WileyPlus and Orion accounting software and book cost over $350. 3/10

Her tests were kinda hard, but probably not really worse than the other accounting professors. She does a pretty good job at making the accounting stuff understandable, and she doesnt give that much homework. A pretty solid choice in my opinion.

In a word. Awful. The graduate assistant does more work that Shaver and it shows. You will teach yourself the entire course. She doesn't even know what is on her tests because the GA made them. She will give pop quizzes if you dont show up. Avoid.

I took her for 201 and 303. Will be taking again for 304. She does not do much teaching, but I think she makes up for it by making the tests straight from the book. If you read and do the quizzes on wileyplus you should do very good on the tests. She also tells us what type of problems are on the test and gives extra credit.

Terrible. Doesnt teach the material. Will go on and on about info that was never on the test. You will basically have to teach yourself. Gave us a project to do 3 weeks in about info she has never taught. This was the worst class Ive ever taken. It made me realize I hated accounting. If you want a professor that teaches, avoid this one

She offers several bonus opportunities, group quizzes, and homework to bring up your grade in class. She also gives a cumulative final that is NOT optional, but if it is higher than one of your previous 3 tests, she will replace your lowest test score with your final score. It's possible to fail all tests and still make a C because of extra credit.

To get the best grade in this class, I suggest you make 100s on ALL of the hw, do the extra credit and pass the quizzes. If you do all of that, you should pass the test. You have to work for it. Not an easy A!

This class was absolutely awful! Avoid at all cost!!! She doesn't teach very well, so only take if you can teach yourself from online stuff/the book. Tests are nothing like the online homework online. Doesn't answer questions very well; told me to check the syllabus for an answer that would have taken 2 seconds to say aloud.

This class if pretty difficult, most difficult in the accounting series from my perspective. To pass this class do the BRIEF EXERCISES. It's pretty much the test. The BE will save your butt. Yes, she lets you bring in note cards, but try to not make too many, it will just slow you down. Also, if you showed you care in the class, she will curve you.
