Prof Schmidt is the best teacher I've encountered while pursuing my Degree at FSCJ. She genuinely cares and wants her students to succeed. In this Infrastructure & Facility Planning class, she was generous enough to provide access to the required CCDA book for free online. The lectures were always informative. She's very knowledgeable. A+

Schmidt is part of a larger issue: the unholy alliance between textbook giants like Pearson (her material is published by them) and colleges. The "CompTIA A+" book on Amazon that includes online material: $32. Schmidt's pay-to-play Pearson bundle: $200 (+SCHOOL TUITION). This course, sponsored by Pearson & two trillion dollars in student debt.

It's a self taught course basically where you go to her lecture just to do a group activity. The mid term was hard as she didn't go over anything in class and I had to read about all the chapters myself. The design project at the end is also pretty hard, but she helps with it in the last class.

I was terrified of taking her class because she literally wrote the textbook for hardware and software, but she was great. I took her online, and her grading was quick and she gave great feedback. I will take her again in the future.

I've taken a total of 3 classes with Professor Schmidt and I absolutely love her teaching and wisdom. She always provides feedback. All material for the course she provides through videos or websites. There is no text book for the course. Quizzes are based off the material provided. Easy A in class. Take her if you have a chance.

The course was very organized and the syllabus was clear. However, Professor Schmidt's communication skills were awful. She often confused me with another student and would respond in a sarcastic, rude way via email. Her responses were in a timely manner, but extremely unprofessional. She acts as though she is inconvenienced by a question.

Professor Schmidt is awesome! Any questions I had, she responded promptly. She regraded my test when the system marked my correct answers wrong. Shes ALWAYS open to feedback and she really cares about the education of her students. Her assignments are easy to understand. If you put forth the effort, you will pass her class.

Took her online course. I supplemented her book with online research because all her tests and quizzes are from a test bank, so her book doesn't always use the same terminology that the questions do. It's annoying. The group projects are entirely pointless - you work on your own and then submit your section. Interaction with group is minimal.

Self-taught on-line class pretty much not much teacher input. Teacher was not very helpful. Can not sell back book. I missed a test time that was me, but I had time to reschedule..3 emails later she was still blaming the issue on the test admin but blackboard issues are teach prob. The book makes u take 2 class with her to. just wants to sell books

Only received a C because I was irresponsible and didn't complete one of the higher point assignments. She was responsive during all hours of the day. Even kind enough to provide me some guidance on what order to take some of my next few classes to help prepare me better for the more difficult ones. She is an exceptional instructor. And Humble!

I took CTS 1133 and 1131 from Professor Schmidt, she was there if you needed help and was willing to help if you reached out to her. She has videos and a tutor who is able to help. I would take from her again I wish she taught all the computer classes. Definitely buy the book you will need it to complete labs and to study for the certifications.

Prof. Schmidt was a wonderful professor. I had unplanned surgery and she was very accommodating with my makeup work. YOu will have to read the book and to the online labs in uCertify. She gives good prompt feedback and helpful when you have questions.

Professor Cheryl Schmidt is a great professor to have for CTS1133 either online or in campus. Clear on what she is looking for in assignments. Clear teaching lectures. If I am able to I will look for her when I take networking classes. Works with class to make sure we are able to understand the assignments

The subject matter is pretty basic, but you need to really understand it to pass. Weekly quizzes and labs. Online labs done in virtual environment; can take a bit getting used to and can be a bit time consuming. 2 closed-book exams. Professor is very approachable and answers emails quickly.

Take this professor! Stop trying to decide, get your seat before it's too late; you'll thank me! Professor Schmidt is an incredible Professor. I was delighted to take her class(es). She is an apparent expert in her field and is very effective at teaching the material. Wish she could teach every course in my program of study! You will not regret choosing her for CTS1131 or CTS1133. Be ready to read every single chapter in the text book, if you do, the class will flow smoothly, and with the structure provided by the professor, you will learn A LOT! Enroll!!

Her class is really straight forward and follows the syllabus to the T. The test are not hard if you study. The review quizzes at the end of each chapter are pretty much every quiz, midterm, and final. She gives what seems like a lot of work, but you get about 2 weeks to do each section. She responds to emails almost instantly. Would take again.
