Waste of time professor will make your life a hell with all the work he piles on. He is a hard grader and gives 0 effort to his students. Good luck asking for help he either responds late or is extremely sarcastic. He's not worth the trouble take anything else.

Honestly, this class was alright. As long as you keep up with the lectures you'll be fine. There is a quiz every week and he emails back a few days late. Lectures are boring, I get through them because I speed them up. The midterm wasn't so bad as long as you paid attention to the lecture, or you could just rewatch the videos.

Probably one of the most unhelpful professor youll ever meet especially if you take him currently during this pandemic. He will truly waste your time and wont grade you fairly. Ive emailed him for help and he responds far too late. If you really need to take this class good luck but its not worth it.

Tbh this class was aight. Not too hard but definitely not a walk in the park either. I see myself earning a B in this class but who knows. Make sure you watch his lectures online and pay attention, it seems the slightest wrong answer on a quiz can get you in trouble. Also, he has a BS quiz policy. Miss one and none of them count!!!!!!!

Lots of books to read (4) per semester, but I understand because this is a history class. My problem is that you will literally have one week to read 300 so pages. That is not enough time for anyone to finish. Why not give us 2+ weeks to read an entire book? I just do not think class is fair for students.

Probably the only "bad" professor I have had at SFSU. His lectures are really really boring, not engaging at all, and most of all - pointless. I had a hard time staying awake in his class. The best thing about this class is the books he assigns to read (Anne Moody, Ishi's Brain). Quizzes are easy and in-class essays are okay.

I liked his class. You do have to read a couple books aside from the textbook, and you're quized on that but he gives you some of the questions he /might/ ask. Even then he only asks you 1 question to respond to. His class is mainly lecture, so make sure you're taking notes!

Textbooks are ishi's brain and anne moody. The eric foner book is not needed unless you skip class, uses a sign in sheet for attendance. Class is boring but it's fairly simple to pass the class just by using lecture notes.

I luv labor history so I loved this class. He cares deeply for the topic, and if u dont then u will spend many hours reading, listening to lectures, and watching movies that put u to sleep. Thats my main advice, if u read the material and pay attention tests are very manageable. Hours of him talking off top, bring coffee. Thankful 4 what i learned

It is a lot of reading, but if you are into history then go for it. If you are not then this class will be very boring. "You have no shame."

His class is just an hour of lecture with very little power point writing so be ready to take notes on everything he says. He's passionate about history though so you won't be too bored. Has quizzes on two fairly lengthy books so try to get ahead and read. The rest of your grade is based in one midterm and final in class essay.

Angel among men. Very few assignments, just 5 reading quizzes, 2 midterms (worst grade dropped), and a final. This guy knows how to lecture. If you have a hard time with lectures, maybe don't take him. He's hilarious and asks before every class if anyone has any questions. Love this guy to death, I can't wait to take more courses with him.

Professor Leikin can be difficult to understand if you have trouble in long lectures. Extremely lecture heavy and your grade is entirely quiz and test scores. However, he definitely knows history very well and is knowledgeable in this field. Also, he's a funny guy! Would recommend to people that are into long lectures.

Professor Leikin is a really good super passionate professor for history. He has a funny sense of humor that lightens up the class. Be prepared to take notes just off him talking as his powerpoint is just pictures. His class is graded based of 4 reading quizzes, a midterm (2 opportunities, he takes the highest grade of the two), and a final.

Fantastic history teacher. Knows his topics well, even brought in first hand anecdotes from his father's WWII letters. Makes history fun, a skill every history teacher should have. Try your best to keep up with the readings, go to class, ask him questions, introduce yourself. He is very willing to help if you reach out for it.

Professor Leikin is hilarious but also knows when to get straight to business. he makes lectures engaging even if its a boring subject. three books per semester, he gives two midterms (only takes the higher grade) 3-4 reading quizzes and a final. makes his grading criteria clear, especially if you go to office hours

My favorite professor at San Francisco State. All of the people giving negative feedback weren't prepared for the quizzes and midterms. If you go to class and listen to his great lectures, you will get a good grade. He is a very good professor who truly cares about his students. Also very funny and an overall great guy. Would recommend to all.

Very passionate teacher. At least 3 books read, but were all very interesting and worth reading. Easy quizzes on the reading as you are being tested chapter by chapter. Midterms and Final is an essay based on 1 out of the 4 questions given. Films are also shown too.
