Comment:

Craig is a very smart guy, but not the greatest teacher. You can tell he really loves math, but he goes very fast through examples. He gets off topic during class and talks to students which gets annoying. You are allowed note cards on exams which I highly relied on for my good grade. Pay attention and use the note cards and you'll do fine.

Do not take him for business calculus. He may be a good math teacher, seems like a smart guy, but does not know how to teach business calc. He explains things very fast and stands infront of his examples when teaching.

Material is not too difficult, you do have to go to class and write down every example because chances are you might see the same question on the exam. Online homework was not hard, he gives you plenty of time. Also, if you do well on the final it will replace your lowest exam grade, which is what saved me. Take him for MTH 130 if you can.

Comment:

If you want a good grade in this class, you need to attend, take down good notes, and write every example down. The examples are what he uses on his exams, which are hard. He does let you use cheat sheets though, and he doesn't check them so feel free to write down anything and everything. Beware though, he moves quickly through the material.

Knew what he was talking about but relayed the information to the students pretty poorly. Used the whiteboard alot. Gave homework for the class but it never counted for points..and made tests and quizzes a little complicated.

he was a very good teacher and i found to be extermly helpfull. if you ever didnt get anything he was always there, either after class of office hours, to help you figure things out. the only problem that i had with the class was that in the beginning he would explain where certian formulas came from. but in the end he was a GREAT teacher!

Don't take Matrix Theory with him. At least he speaks native English (a luxury for the Math dept), but he just didn't teach well. Spent too much time giving into one person's persistent questions that it hurt the greater good. Guided me through a problem a different way than the book showed and could it only confused me. Book wasn't much help either.

He is a pretty good teacher, however sometimes he talks for 15 minutes about something that doesn't even pertain to what we are learning. Also, when asking questions he can kind of be a jerk. He doesn't like using the calculator to solve problems. If you do the homework, you should do well on the tests.

This was by far the easiest class I have ever taken at CMU. You probably do more in one month of high school trig than we did the whole semester. He drops quizes and tests, gives extra credit, stays after class etc. If you can't ace this class get the f*ck out of college. I don't remember any classes in highschool being this easy.

Boring, strange, and almost arrogant. He always wears the same black zip-up hoodie to class and drinks a lot of energy drinks, which may explain for his 'passion' for trig. I would try to take this class with another professor if at all possible.

Franze is a pretty good teacher...the class is so easy to begin with, and he is very kind with grading. I went once in a month and still got A's on every exam. He tells random jokes and nobody laughs, but he is a good guy :)

What can I say? He's a grad student. He starts out taking attendance but stalls out near mid-semester. If you know 8th (or 9th) grade algebra you can sleep through this class. I aced all the tests, but now you can't get competency so MTH105 may be more worth your time and money. Nice guy though.

CRAIG IS A BORING TEACHER AND I HATED GOING TO CLASS. I WENT PROBABLY ONCE EVERY 2 WEEKS AND STILL MANAGED TO PASS HIS CLASS. QUIZZES EVERY FRIDAY (WHICH SUCK) BUT LATER ON IN THE SEMESTER HE WILL TELL U THAT HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS MAKE UP FOR MISSED QUIZZES! EASY A THOUGH...100% ON ALL MY EXAMS

The guy seems very intimidated by his students. I asked him a question after class and he wouldn't even look at me in the eye, he remained looking at the ground. The material is too easy. I wonder how the kids in his class get into college?
