Great professor, who knows his stuff really well, especially environmental ethics. He wants to help you succeed and understand and allows some extra credit. But, very difficult to keep up with all the reading. Do not miss any of the lectures towards the beginning of the semester because they are the more difficult ones to understand.

Fouke is extremely knowledgeable about the subject of philosophy; so much so, that I had a hard time following his lectures sometimes. He expects a lot from you. If you do have him, I highly recommend going to him to discuss papers before attempting to write them.

Professor has daily forums which get very old after the first week. He is not very nice and gives little to no leeway for assignments. Insane amount of work load considering people are taking this class only to fill requirements. Do not take this professor. Knows what he is saying but expects way to much effort from students.

Nice guy and passionate about his work. Unfortunately the class can be very boring as it is entirely discussion. No tests but a couple papers. I did not enjoy the class most days but overall, I did learn about the environment.

Liked this guy a lot. Took him for Envi Ethics and was one of the most engaging sustainability related courses at UD. No tests or quizzes, class was 2 papers, a presentation, and daily forum posts. Posting in the forums got a little old but it made sure students actually read. Guy actually cares about what he's teaching which I respect

The lectures are pretty boring, just kind of rambles on sometimes. Other times it's pretty interesting and he engages the class a lot, depends on the day. Very easy paper grader, no tests.

A nice guy! He loves the environment, and it frustrates him a little when his students don't understand the importance of keeping it clean. We wrote a few papers, on one the philosophy of religion, the other two on environmental ethics. The final was a paper and there are no tests or quizzes. Attendance is mandatory, and his lectures get boring.

If you want to be challenged and learn a lot, take this class! Dr. Fouke is one of the best professors I've experienced at UD. He is so helpful: he looked over any outline or draft I would send him and also helped me develop all my theses for my papers. Take him if you want to learn a lot and if you love philosophy!

Very smart guy. He is so passionate about the environment you actually feel bad for him sometimes. I spent A LOT of time on his papers and would get B- on them, the class is very intresting though and you dont have any tests just papers, forums, and a project. No complaints other than hard grader with papers.

Dan Fouke was an extremely good teacher, his class was just really difficult, especially for an intro course. However, you learn a lot from the class if you put in the effort. The one advice I'd give is if you do poorly on a paper go in and talk to him during office hours. He will let you revise it. Midterm Grade:C Final Grade:A

Prof. Fouke was a really good teacher. I learned a lot from his class, but his class was incredibly time consuming. I spent several hours a day doing homework for his class, which was frustrating because I am a science major. Overall, his class made me a better writer, reader, and thinker.

A tremendous teacher. He was enthusiastic and made me interested in the (sometimes dry) topic. He was always willing to help, and extended himself beyond just his office hours. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Dan is the man. Very nice guy, good lectures if youre interested in philosophy, totally worth taking the class. Grades papers rough for grammar and religion but he gave me five points on a paper for coming to meet him about an 80 on it. Fouke is absolutely adorable, met his wife frosh year of high school and married her after one yr of college!
