He was a very nice professor, if you kept up with the readings the lectures were more understandable, he made participating in class easier too. You have "pop" quizzes but he basically warns you a day or two ahead of time but it's was easy and enjoyable class with Professor McNeil. The work was very straight forward and easy to finish.

I really enjoyed the topic of this class. As far as online school goes, I believe he was very helpful with any malfunctions of canvas or the tests. I wish this class was in person in order to experience some of his lectures. He gave a clear schedule and stuck to it. He also lets you know what you should be studying in order to pass the tests.

The class isn't difficult. Tests are fair and there's plenty of extra credit. The most frustrating part was the high school type classroom rules. He's strict about tardiness & "taking breaks" during class. McNeil is good at his job, he's clear and straightforward. He makes class material interesting and engaging. The class is overall fine.

I recommend not taking this class if you struggle with test taking. Most tests are around 22 questions long with nine of those being essay questions and you have 59 minutes to take it. Every test I took I was unable to finish. And he is very strict with just using class resources and you must cite EVERYTHING. That includes citing on the tests.

The professor grades relatively difficult. I was a straight A student until this class. He definitely makes your work for your grade. Be ready to write quite a few essays and responses. He is very specific with how things are written and he grades harshly on that criteria. He does not give out many A's.

This class is intense but he does make a point for you to reach out to him if you need help . He is available during office hours , but make sure not to use outside sources unless specified. Get ready for quiz after quiz after quiz with no brake . Luckily he grades on a curve offers little extra credit and you can pass the class with a 78/ get a B

For starters, his canvas is extremely unorganized and difficult to navigate. The time that you get for quizzes and tests is extremely short for him wanting well-written essay responses. Speaking of, most of if not all of his assignments are expected to be essays. The workload was way too much for being a full-time student and working.

This class is incredibly one sided & ur not allowed to use outside sources. The tests are so stressful & timed unrealistically. They consist of multiple choice & essays (u do not know the prompt) and u must correctly cite all sources w/ in the allotted time. And u have to do a lot of extra bonus work just to get an A & am normally an A student.

Professor McNeil's grading criteria is clear and fair. He expects you to draw a connection between the provided reading and/or watching materials to the concepts of the class, but that's the whole point of every class you'll ever take. If you do the work and put a little heart into it, you'll do great.

Mr. McNeil is awesome! He gave me feedback and recommendations on some of my essays. People think Sociology should be easy however the instructor prepares students for in depth analysis as he should. That is what sociology is. Also prepares students for university level homework. Overall Awesome!!!!!!!!!

The textbook is free . Some kinda interesting films and articles have to be read for the tests. Offered extra credit. He wants quotes in your posts. Not as hard as some think. Gave me feedback on a film review draft but had to send it to him 4 days before it was due, which was hard bc I work! I did get a god grade on it though!

Loved the topics he curated for us. They responded to my questions promptly. The final project seemed hard but I got 100% just follow the directions and you will get a good grade on the autobiography.

The class was interesting, the text book was biased, and the test were hard. Most test had about three essay questions with around 20 other questions. All of that had to be done in about 30min. He is a very tough grader and he needs to do a better job at organizing canvas. His sylabus is long and be prepared to take a quiz or two on it.

Very horrible teacher. Very hard assignments for little points. Expects way too much. Does NOT give enough time on quizzes. He is a very picky and tough grader so must follow directions to every assignment or he will take points away on assignments that are already worth hardly any points.

The textbook for this class was accessible online for free but I would recommend renting/buying a physical copy of it. Most of the grade weighs on tests and I wish the time limit on the tests were longer since I found myself running out of time often. He's a fair grader and I have no complaints about his teaching style or his personality.
