Comment:

The knowledge gained is much higher level than other classes. He uses his own entrepreneurship theories instead of textbooks and he can integrate with many different concepts and practical examples. Take his class. The lectures are natural and he is extremely inspiring. I took him last quarter and some students cried on the last day.

Comment:

Professor Patrick Murphy is a true pleasure to work with. He is outstanding in delivering the crux of management concepts as well as innovation. His knowledge about entrepreneurship and social enterprises is inspirational. I was a Master's student of Data science but the course was laid out so well that I didn't have difficultly understanding it.

This professor is easily accessible outside of class, he places a value on applying concepts learned in lectures rather than tests and homework. The midterm was difficult as you have to do essays and financial analysis, but again, Professor Murphy was more than willing to answer any questions you might have. He truly wants students to learn

Comment:

One of the best professors i have had at DePaul so far. It's evident how much he truly cares for his students. His lectures were a lot of fun and interactive. He also is a genius when it comes to entrepreneurship and has a lot of amazing connections. this class also give you real world experience and you work with a real client. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Prof. Murphy taught one of the most memorable classes I had at DePaul. Terrific and engaging lectures, encourages students to speak their minds, and accessible outside of class. Once you are in his class, you are his student for life. If Murphy thinks he can assist with anything, he makes it happen or puts you in touch with the people who can.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! This class was terrible. Professor Murphy will only talk about himself and goes off on tangents. I learned nothing. You have a client that you work with and our client treated us like a secretary with mundane work. And when we addressed this with Murphy, he blames us and took no responsibility for his lack of teaching. AVOID!

Professor Murphy is one of the best teachers I had at DePaul. He always tries to do his best for his students and TRULY has a passion for teaching. I learned a tremendous amount about management and mutinies. He taught his class in a nontraditional way and really tried to engage all of his students in discussion.

Patrick Murphy is by far the greatest professor I have had at DePaul. Captivating lectures and group projects are designed for learning, not just "work". He is always available to help with questions. His material is challenging but is delivered in a very digestible way. As a student of two classes so far, Patrick earns my highest recommendation.

Dr. Murphy is a renaissance spirit. His passion comes from intense curiosity. He's a true genius across fields, languages, music. Mutiny class takes you back 500 years but prepares you for the future as a leader. You read his book that Yale published. He presents historic events using Google earth in class. Don't leave DePaul without taking him.

Professor Murphy teaches his class unlike any professor I've had at DePaul so far, and I'm a senior. You will learn so much- challenging but worth it. He focuses on really teaching and giving you a completely different perspective on entrepreneurship. I never thought I'd want to pursue a career in his field, until now. AMAZING CLASS! TAKE HIM !!!!!

Professor Murphy is awesome. I honestly didn't even think about being an entrepreneur before taking this class but now I'm giving it more thought. He really wants you to think about learning not just in the class but outside as well. Make sure to get into a good group at the beginning of the class.

Murphy's class was challenging and educational. Why I came to DePaul's entrepreneurship program. Learn enterprise concepts taught around the world from the DePaul professor who created them and apply them in a team consulting project. He opens his network to students and is always available. No wonder he won both teaching awards at graduation.

Very good class with a lot of learning to be gained. You will be be a part of a team to help grow a social venture that requires help. It will require a lot of work and motivation but I can guarantee you this "It will be worth it". Prof. Patrick will help your team along the way if you need him.

Like everyone's said Prof. Murphy is very knowledgeable and truly cares about his students. He's a great teacher for the business capstone- you really put everything you've learned to good use. Recommend being a team lead for the project (lots of work but guaranteed an A plus excellent experience). Wish he taught more classes. Awesome prof overall!

Professor Murphy is one of the most inspirational and motivating professors I have ever had. His contagious energy and encouragement makes it easier for the students to get involved. Professor believes in real world experience, so expect impressive guest speakers and fun outdoor exercises. A remarkable human being. Highly recommend!

Professor Murphy is the Michael Jordan of professors plain and simple. I've had two classes with him at DePaul and both have been my favorite classes in my time here. If you want to be inspired, actually learn, and enjoy a hilarious class in the process well then you need to take a class with him. Murphy is THE MAN!!!!

The grade consists of a midterm and a project. The midterm- he didn't grade and decided to give everyone an A. The project- as long as you do it, put some effort into it, and don't anger your team lead (since the team lead grades you), then you'll pass with an A. Just show up and look interested.

This class was without a doubt the best class I have taken at depaul. Professor Murphy is incredibly smart & passionate about learning. Wish I hadn't waited until my last year at depaul to take him because I would have taken all of his classes!

Take this class its super! While it is challenging you will be glad you did. Most of the class is providing help to the entrepreneurs. Don't buy the book! If you are outgoing and well organized be a team lead. They have to do a bit more work but it will be rewarding. Take him you won't regret it. Only one test and its easy and a Final presentation.

He is by far the coolest professor at DePaul. You learn a lot, get tons of hands on experience, and have a good time while doing it. My only regret is that I didn't take his classes before I was a senior!
