Comment:
I had a decent experience. I do not feel like I learned very much, but it is what it is. The class was lecture heavy with occasional guest speakers. I feel like there were a lot of presumptions that students knew certain topics when in reality I did not know a lot. The books are the worst, very bias against conservatives in congress.

If you're looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you. I took this class online and there is a lot of readings, videos, discussions, and simulations to keep up with. Having said that, if you do the work, you will do fine. I learned a lot in this class despite not caring much for the subject. Overall, I would recommend taking this class.

Smart professor that knows his stuff but obviously wants to be elsewhere. Not really clear in his lectures and will talk down to you if you ask questions.

Took this class as an online class over the summer and it was fine, I had no problems! I had an issue with one of the pop quizzes where my laptop shut off right in middle and he let me re-do it which I thought was nice and understanding of him. The guy knows a lot about what he teaches, don't be afraid to ask questions!

He only has a not so great rating because people don't like PSC 302, it's the subject not the professor. He literally knows everything about Nevada politics, he is so smart! Highly recommend. I wish I could take more classes from him.

Prof. Damore is very knowledgable on Nevada politics and I can genuinely say I learned a ton. Every PSC major should take a class from him. For 401O there are 2 essays and 2 tests as well as a presentation. He is a very fair grader. Apply examples from the various textbooks to all your assignments and you will do great. Attendance is mandatory.

There are some people who you could tell do not like teaching but are teaching for whatever reasons...I think Dr Damore is like that. He's extremely smart but choose not to be that helpful with generic responses and 'why don't u do it ur self attitude'.

Dr. Damore is a tough grader. PSC 302 is already a hard subject, and it is very intense. He is willing to help, office hours are a "must attend" to pass they helped a lot with part 3 of the course which is the statistical/calculations part. If you show effort he helps you a lot by giving you hints on what to study.

Gives quizzes that all the answers can be found online. They are not the same as the questions on the test. Does not explain anything about how grading works and the grade book has a ton of assignments that are no where to complete and don't count towards your grade. The book is vital to getting an A without it you can get a B.

Literally, the hardest class I've ever taken.. Took it in the summer In one month there was 20 lectures, two text books, 3 quiz 3 test and multiple additional reading. ( I ran through an entire 500 pages of compute paper) PRINT LECTURES OUT. He doesn't leave them up. Can't see questions missed on assessments, and get generic answers for help.

summer class and got a lot to read. One quiz for each chapter is usual but 2 videos to watch, a article to read, a simulation to take, and a graph to take a look at, each one is followed by several multiple questions, simulation has some short answer questions. Takes time. post at least 5 discussion each module. Quiz can google. DO NOT TAKE IT.

Overall, it was an easy class. Class is based off of participation in discussions and learning modules, short quizzes after each chapter, and a 55 question multiple choice test out of 50 points (5 points ex. credit available). Many answers for quizzes can be found online or searched within ebook. Learned a lot for putting in mediocre effort.

Summer & online. Class was very frustrating. He's strict on deadlines but doesnt give you an exact date. I dont know where the logic is on that. BE SURE TO CHECK WEB CAMPUS A FEW TIMES A DAY! He will post a test due that day in the middle of the day with NO warning. Very unorganized but will reply to email fast but doesnt answer your question!

Dr. Damore is very helpful. I do recommend taking him over the summer; just do not take any other classes with it. requires lots of reading and pay attention to lectures; his tests are based on them. If you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to email him. He's compassionate and understanding. READ THE BOOK.

This class definitely keeps you on your toes. I took this class in Spring '11 and had a tough time, mostly because of the heavy reading that was needed for the class. It's not impossible to pass this class, but you definitely need to dedicate yourself to this class and read and annotate the words and phrases if you don't understand.

Great Professor, pay attention to details because they will show up on the quizzes. Jokes are actually funny. He doesn't respond well to ignorance.. So think out your questions before you ask them.

If you are a PSC major, hold your breath and take this summer online course. He is the easiest teacher to take 302 with. TRANSCRIBE his lectures word for word and put them in searchable format so you can search them during tests. Get really good grades on the first 2 exams because the 3rd one is a fail. Got a B. Never looking back.

I took his PSC 101 class over the summer. I already took an AP Gov class so this was just a review. If you have not taken this class and don't like to read a lot than don't take this professor. He KNOWS what he is talking about and I enjoyed the class. Take him if you want to major in PSC and have something to prove.

Man this professor is hard! People here speak the truth, he is hard and you hella gotta study to earn a good grade. But if you email him he'll give you some pointers on what you did wrong. Overall I say to take him online instead of in class if you have to. From what I've heard he's better than the other prof. that teaches this mandatory course.

I took the Research Methods class online from him and it was horrible. His lectures provided nothing and the only way you seem to be able to pass his tests is by praying. Hardest class I have EVER taken. Good luck.
