This class was extremely painful to take online cus he drags it out. He's also not good at communicating with students & would take a long time to respond to emails. lastly he did a bad job with spreading out our assignments giving 1 paper in the beginning of the semester & 4 in the last 4 weeks. I really wanted to like this class but I couldn't

Comment:

Professor Kapelner tries to make business law class as fun as he can and relates everything to real world scenarios. He slides in jokes here and there that are just hilarious. He's super laid back and goes with the flow. Only thing is the essays are kind of a lot. Exams weren't bad but had to hand in a 6-8 page essay with them. Would take again

Prof. Kapelner is such a great guy. I took his intro to business class my 1st semester and I was one of the few people that actually liked him. Other people didn't like him because most students at Merrimack are stuck in high school and don't put in effort to get an A and still expect to get one. Then they complain that they have a 2.7.

Lectures all class out of the book, assigns some out of class essays they are tedious so spend time doing them in advance, he is not very strict on due dates, tests make sure you read the chapters in the text book, he will not do test prep, very nice guy and cares about how you do in class

Show up for class, appear engaged, spend time working on the take home essays and you'll do well. Very easy teacher so you can slip by without learning a lot of Law. Wish he was a bit stricter so I learned something.

Easy Grader. Nice guy and seems to know his stuff. Very hard to pay attention in class though as his lectures tend to be boring. He'll spend a lot of time in class just reading from his notes/textbook without looking up. On occasion he'll engage the class. If your shy he may yell at you to "speak up". If you want to learn Law, read your textbook.

Professor Kapelner was one of the best instructors I had at Merrimack college. He's extremely knowledgeable as both a professor and lawyer and maintains class interest by intertwining real world examples, practical advice and humor.

A complete waste of a class. He takes attendance and uses class participation (until after a few weeks when he realizes no one reads the chapters because the material is dry and uninteresting). He basically just talks for 2 hours (slightly touching base with the topic) and does not engage the class whatsoever. He is the easiest law teacher though.

He gives the most impossible multiple choice sections of test material, but he gives you the essays on test which helps out a lot too. He is really nice, just doesn't teach that much. He expects you to read a ton for every class, but nobody ever does and then he just stops asking by like the tenth class if anybody read.

Probably the funniest teacher I have ever had. I loved the "I don't give a ****" attitude. The tests were really hard but he gave out good grades anyway. The only downside of the Law/Ethics module I took him in was that Vega woman who kept showing up and blathering non-stop.
