I absolutely hated this class. He was extremely rude both while lecturing and in office hours. He told our class that we ask stupid questions in office hours. He also is extremely impatient if we do not understand the material right away and he thinks we are all stupid because we don't know finance as well as he does.

Moves way too fast. Aside from clickers (which is the only incentive to go to class), you're better off reading the slides at home yourself. Tests are near impossible to complete within the given time. He knows his stuff but I would highly recommend another professor for bcor 2200. That is unless you want to get diagnosed with "add" or something..

Much like the BCOR Accounting class, I think you need a certain way of thinking in order to do well in this class. I don't understand science because my brain doesn't work that way-same concept here. Gross goes really fast, but if you do your work, study and do the homework, this class is extremely manageable. I liked Gross overall-good professor.

No question. It's a hard class. But honestly my favorite BCOR class thus far. Yes, he goes quickly through the slides, just take notes on the powerpoint itself and you'll be fine, since everything is pretty much on the powerpoint again. Great professor, and I'm definitely taking another class with him.

He has no consideration for his students. He seems nice at first, but after the first week it's all downhill. He refuses to slow down and expects everyone to understand the concepts. Even worse there are clickers and he reads of the slides - many slides with lots of words! Honestly, I could go home and read them myself.

Gross is a pretty hard professor, he moves very fast though the material but is helpful when you ask him to cover a topic again. Tests were not the worst but the ticket to success for the exams is to be extremely proficient with your financial calculator. the time limit for the exams hurts many students grades

Gross is the worst professor I've ever had. He talks way too fast and refuses to slow down. He could care less about students. Material taught in class does not resemble material on tests and homework. You have to teach yourself everything in his class. He is intimidating and mean, and prides himself on failing students out of the business school.

Worst professor I've ever had. Not helpful, harsh on students, and a very demeaning man. Never take a class with this professor. He is brilliant at finance and research (maybe) but should be hands down fired as an educator.

Gross is a hard professor and I didn't find him to be particularly helpful during office hours (I was actually told he wouldn't help me, despite perfect attendance) so I was forced to all but teach myself the course material.

Gross is tough but if you are really interested in finance he's a great teacher. He moves very fast through slide shows and you have to learn a lot on your own- which is just what you have to do with finance. He gets a bad rap for being tough but if you're a hard worker you will get past this and see that he's the best intro teacher.

Comment:
Professor Gross moves through his powerpoints at an extremely fast pace and doesn't take much time to explain anything. He relies heavily on his TA's to teach students nearly everything and began using a homework system this year that has questions he does not give any information about completing and even a few that have no relevance to the book.

For a BCOR this was a really good class. He simplifies some of this stuff well so you can better understand what he's talking about. He was great in office hours, and I think his tests are pretty fair.

He is really good at finance, but almost too good for the intro. classes. I had a hard time following his lectures, and a really hard time with the exams. There was online homework every week that mostly did not follow his lecture notes. And i had to relearn most of this content for the course by reading the textbook!

David is a good guy, but a little bit tough. He stepped into a weird situation this year with Prof. Bonner becoming ill, but I still feel he should have considered the feelings and thoughts of the students about the remaining of the semester.

Dave has contributed greatly to my passion for finance. His knowledge of the subject matter and real world experience enables him to make difficult material comprehensible to students of all ability levels. You MUST do the work in order to be successful in his class. I highly recommend him if you are seeking a challange and have a desire to learn.

Makes otherwise boring financial coverage interesting (discussions about actual financial news/events makes connection between course material & Real World); group projects not difficult if you attend lecture regularly, but read the text and homework answers for exams; very helpful in office hours
