Comment:

Deanna M is an awful teacher. Her voice is so low toned it makes you want to pass out in class, her grading isn't on actually how well you did in the class she chooses favorites. I took her class and failed it and now I'm taking the same class online and I have an A. Deanna doesn't assign much homework you just turn it in one a week.

Comment:

She takes off points for minor things, making it difficult to get an A overall. If you take her, you have to review anything she looks at twice because even though you might get the right answer, your method MUST be practically perfect. She taught from note outlines which wasn't necessarily bad, just not tailored to her students needs whatsoever.

Comment:

She's a great teacher, great note taker, and well organized. Of course her grading is hard but isn't math hard in general? We do take notes in class so if there are homework problems or study guide problems that you may have that can't be answered from your notes, I'd suggest going to the MRC and or her office hours. Also skipping class won't help

I am pretty good at math and for the most part, I enjoy it, but this class is TERRIBLE. She grades homework and tests harder than I have ever seen any other before. If you accidentally miss an equals sign, you get docked points. Complete disregard if you got the question right, if there is something missing in the form, it's wrong. Awful, 0/10.

Overall a great teacher! Shes very good at explaining problems and taking time to work with the students. She gets the point across really simply. Id recommend her to anyone

I loved taking her Math class. She is very sweet and funny. She also replies fast to emails. If you miss a day of class and need the notes, just ask her and she will let you take pictures of the notes that you missed. Rarely any warm ups and there is a sign up sheet @ the beginning of every class. If you have any questions she will help you out!

Comment:

Professor Murphy was overall a good professor and I would take her class again. I am terrible at math, however she made it a little more bearable. She is helpful as she will go over any homework problems in class that you had trouble with. The class is fast paced, however, she'll slow down a bit to reiterate things if need be. She was funny too.

She's a great instructor. Moves through the material pretty fast at times, there were a couple times people asked to go back and explain things. She uses note "shells" where you get a layout of the material and "fill in the blanks". Quiet, some would say boring. But she knows the material and as long as you do the work you'll be successful. +1

Very boring teacher. Talks very slowly. No warm-ups. Homework is due before she even covers all the notes/info. Work is due all at once every week. If you need to talk to her about work/grades you have to go see her during office hours. She won't talk to you about anything after class or over email. If you try, she will say come to my office hours.

First of all I'm excellent in math and this is the first math class i ever failed. She is a nice person but grades so hard. The 3 tests are very hard which takes all class period and the final is super long. I felt great going through the course and my grade was great. Then the final happened and i failed the course. I studied my butt off to fail.

Comment:

Deanna takes the time to answer questions during class and makes things easy to understand. There is a lot of homework, but it does help to understand the material. I mean you really only need half of what she assigns to get it. Quizzes and exams are critiqued heavily and graded firmly because she wants you to learn proper notation. She's good.

She goes through the material well. She does go a little bit fast paced and gets way ahead of the homework material. So by the time you get to homework you basically have to reteach yourself. I think it would be more helpful if she kept the same pace with both. She gives credit for being on the right path on tests which is really nice.

Comment:

I loved the fact that she gave us note shells, so it was really easy to take good notes and work along in class. She asks if anyone has difficulty on the homework often and will work the entire problem through until everyone understands. She's a nice person, and wrote me a strong recommendation letter.

Comment:

Her teaching style is very bland, she has no motivation to be passionate about her job as far as i could tell. The test are horrible they have vocabulary and they are not really based on how to solve the problem. I took jody larsons class and recieved 95 and above on all my test, however never got a test better than a C in her class.
