Comment:

Dr. Dahms is terrible at organizing his notes in a way that helps students understand them. He also goes on about random things, and almost none of the exam questions are reviewed in class. There is also no text to reference. Overall the class isn't hard due to the curve, and the opportunity for corrections on tests. Avoid Dennis if you can...

Comment:

I had him for a one credit lab and there was way too much work. His final was one of my hardest which was just ridiculous. Long, difficult assignments and boring 15-20 minute lectures to start class. Did not like at all.

Comment:

Worst professor. His test and quizzes are impossible if you aren't a geography major. They are so hard and over nothing that is covered in classes or in the reading. The quizzes and text are online and timed and still impossible. I do not recommend. Hardest class I've ever taken.

Shouldnt be a teacher. Hes EXTREMELY unorganized. He also kind of has a temper. He yelled at our class for not handing in an assignment and told use to drop his class and go work at McDonalds. But hes so unorganized he never told us when the assignment was due so yeah that was nice. Not good at explain things. Makes sense to him but not others.

Very hard class. Tests are online and extremly difficult. However, if you have any questions, he is very helpful in answering.

I took him for Physical Geo. lab and it was the worst class I've taken. Unless you're a geography major everything is confusing. I got a B but I highly recommend to NOT take this class if you can help it.

Comment:

Very hard class material wise. The lectures can be long and boring, but he does his best to make them more interesting. Funny and cool guy. Tests are VERY hard and can throw you, but they're online so use your resources to your advantage. Weekly six point quizzes really got me, study for them because they do add up and do matter. Uses a curve.

Tests are online but extremely difficult. Speaks softly in class so sit up front. Literally no one in my class section got an A in this class, so if you are focused on GPA, look elsewhere.

Comment:

All of the tests are online, but are very difficult. There are 75 questions to finish in 75 minutes. He tapes lectures so that you can watch them online, but the lectures do not help much for the tests. I recommend an online book, so that you can search for the answers for the exams by using the search box.

Nice professor, but not recommended. The lectures and powerpoints you can print help you almost none. All the tests are online so you can Google stuff, but the questions are very hard. If you have to take Dahms class, take it with 1 or 2 other people so you can help each other with the tests. You are able to see the answers to the tests after

I also found the tests to be about information I didn't hear about during lectures or read about in the readings. We were only allowed to retake the first test. I wouldn't recommend this class to someone not into the major. Monotone.

I found the tests to be very hard and didn't seem to be based on the lectures or readings. He recently changed the class so you can't take the tests twice. He curved the grade which helped but I still found it hard to get a good grade though I studied lots for the tests.

Attend lecture and you will be fine. Book really isn't that mandatory. Tests are online and you can take them twice. Overall, a pretty easy gen ed. The lab is about as easy as it gets.

He was very clear in his lectures, you get attendence points for going! He states that he knows its a gen-ed so he trys making it easy as possible! All test are online- you take them TWICE!! Easy, Easy Easy!

While this class wasn't the most interesting I've ever taken, Professor Dahms was nice, interested in the subject, and was a fairly easy professor. All the test are online (open book, open note), but they were challenging. Classes are boring, but low key, he takes attendence everyday and lectures from powerpoints.

All you have to do is go to class and do absolutely nothing. Tests are on eLearning, and you can get an A on every test if you have any common sense. Take this class.

Very boring lectures which he does every class period for the whole time. Tests are on WebCT so you can use notes but there is so much info on the power points that it is hard to know what is the important stuff. He jokes around all the time and thinks he is funny but is not.

So frustrating. Insanely boring lectures that aren't referencing the book. Tests are strictly out of book. Weekly assignment were extremely vague but he was really picky when grading them. I'm so happy he's out of my life.

He lectures all class. We had a total of 15 assignments spaced out through the semester. Doesn't give tests, and gives 30 extra credit points if you don't miss class. Extremely easy class! but can be kind of boring.
