Comment:

Dr. Haney is really sweet and cares about his students. He can get distracted on lectures, but he puts the powerpoints online. There's no textbook, but he posts readings online every week which are recommended but not really mandatory. His study guides are pretty close to the test and if you show up to the study sessions he'll give you the answers.

Comment:

I highly recommend taking Dr. Haney for Bio 101 for non-majors. He is a super chill teacher gives 4 exams and a final but you can replace one of your exam grades with your final grade if you didn't do well on one. HE gives reading for HW but they are not necessary, no quizzes and the labs are fairly easy. Highly recommend for GER credit for NWL/NW.

Dr. Haney is a sweet man! He is almost always available outside of class and is always willing to explain something in more detail. He can be very long winded at times, which can lead to confusion.

Although I learned a ton in this class, my grade does not reflect it. Dr. Haney expects a ridiculous amount of time out of his students, is so picky with his grading, and expects you to read his mind with his test questions. He is helpful if you come to him with questions, but would take someone else if I had the opportunity.

His power point slides and lectures are verbatim from the book. So, if you don't understand the book's wording, you're in trouble. He's smart and knows what he's teaching, he just doesn't teach it well. He is nice, though.

A nice guy. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Very personable and tries his best to help you understand. A hard grader but just ask him if you dont understand. I have even called him late at night for help and he had no problem with it. Funny.

I really don't think he likes teaching. He was not a very nice guy and I am biology major. He even made me cry once. I will never take another class with him and I really wish that someone would clue him into the needed attitude adjustment.

Extremely nice, flies through some material. His nervousness when talking about certain things is funny. The professors are good, this class is just hard.
