Comment:
Dropped the course twice before. He is so boring and inaudible even if you sit on the 3rd row. His videos made me sleep while watching them. Luckily cleared that course now, couldn't bear him. Dunno how they have kept him since 25 years+ here at MUN. He is almost in his grave now, he should've stopped teaching long back.

He is a good prof and if you put in even a little effort to remember the information and study the important graphs you will do fine on his tests. He is a pretty generous marker if you can show you have at least a base knowledge of the material. Also tells some pretty great jokes if you're into dry humour

Comment:
Pretty unclear when lecturing; if I hadn't had other economics courses behind me I feel I would have been lost. Also incredibly boring, even in his video lectures (super hard to pay attention, or stay awake for that matter). And in almost every lecture (that I attended) he would throw in at least one mildly sexist comment. 2/10 would not recommend.

Good Prof, but goes off on tangents. It's a small class so he knows who skips the class. He really tries to make the lectures interesting, but the textbook we used is all black and white, including the graphs. You really need to be interested in the subject to enjoy the class. It wasn't the prof's fault I didn't enjoy this course

He is a good professor but I feel he avoids mathematics too much in the material.

Doug is a very fair teacher, giving students opportunities to do well in his course whenever he can. Exams are always fair and he usually gives lots of helpful hints! Material is a bit dry and its sometimes a struggle to stay awake in class. If your looking for a econ or HR elective it is a great course to take!

Smart man who loves what he does. Tests are pretty straight forward - and his marking scheme gives you every opportunity to do well. Can be slightly frustrating at times when he goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with the course. But, overall, he is a quality prof. I would recommend taking his course.

The lectures are dry and he tends to go off on tangents, but he gives you a lot of opportunities to get extra marks (ex. optional quizzes) and genuinely wants his students to do well. He's also one of the most personable profs you'll ever meet.

Absolutely agree that he is brilliant and that he is wickedly funny! What more could you ask for in a prof? Clarity? If you don't get it, just ask. It's much clearer the second time.
