Dr. Dugan is a great professor. She is passionate about what she does, and as a future educator I can appreciate that. Her grading of papers over time gets tougher, but she discloses this to you. By the end, the papers can be pretty difficult, but she is a supportive professor willing to help you out.

She thinks she's funnier than she is, and can be kind of rude when grading papers. She tries to give good feedback to improve, but some of her comments come off wrong. You don't need to do most of the readings for the lecture, but you have to work your butt off for the papers.

Her lectures often explained everything you needed to know from the readings. She is a tough grader on papers but gives lots of feedback so that you can improve.

Dr. Dugan is caring and always excited for class. She is a fair grader. The majority of our grades were based on group projects, so be ready to work with classmates.

Professor Dugan is a great teacher for this course. She assigns massive readings every class period but I never did a single one of them. She spends all of every class lecturing about the readings and telling you everything you need to know. There are 4 tests that are just an essay that are prompted by topics covered in lecture. Overall easy!

Dr. Dugan was a great prof, but you better have plenty of time to read. Our homework was 30-70 pages for a TR class, and it was DENSE. Larger reading assignments were for the shorter turnarounds. If you don't read/participate, you WILL NOT DO WELL. However, when everybody else stopped participating, she did everything to ensure my success.

Pretty good at explaining specific concepts of the past in a simplistic way, at times too simplistic. Got boring at the end though and she expects you to read soooo much but I never did

Seeking God in the medieval west doesnt sound like a class youd really wanna take. With professor Dugan as my teacher, however, I actually looked forward to going to class. She makes the topic interesting even though its very lecture heavy and she really ties in her real life experiences to make the topic feel a lot more real.

Actually a decent lecturer and nice. If you pay attention, the tests will be easy as she makes it pretty clear what you have to know. Tests are all essays, and usually pretty easy to get an A with minimal reading. I only used wikipedia and other sources for this class without reading the majority of the books. Class discussion is important.

GROUP PROJECTS!!!! This entire class was group projects. You finished one and were handed another. Not complaining though but not many other grades. Also, her lectures were interesting but it was all on reading that we never got tested on. She is a kinda lady but I just wouldn't recommend her class unless you love history A LOT!!

While any class with Dr. Dugan is harder than average, she is truly a wonderful professor. She grades essays tough, but are ultimately quite fair. Her lectures are wonderful and can captivate classes. As long as you participate and show respect, she'll like you! Visit her in office hours, she tends to be more helpful then. Would take her again!

She's a tough grader and she expects you to do all of the readings, which there are a lot of. Hundreds of pages per day. She expects that you participate in class and she takes that into consideration when grading as well.

I took Seeking God in the PreModern/Medieval West. This class is not insanely hard, although there is a ton of homework. We had to read a book almost every week and then write a paper on each one. I never really read the books so it wasn't necessary, but she grades the papers pretty hard. I would not suggest taking this class.

Prof. Dugan is one of the best professors in the department. She is a tough grader, but she makes you truly think about what you are writing. She has high expectations. Lectures are very informative and enjoyable. If you have an interest in History, Dugan is the way to go.

Prof. Dugan is a nice lady, and is obviously passionate about history. I was disappointed in how hard it was to get an A on the essay writing in the class, and she graded essays harder than any English teacher I have ever had. If you are very passionate about history I would suggest her, but not for the Average Joe expecting an easy gen-ed.

Her lecture is all over the place and does not teach a lot of history. A lot of the stuff she teaches are rants about the things that she is interested in history. Her test are 100 pts; 30pts map quiz(easy if you study); 70 written response(study reading documents). She looks very specific answers on the test, and it's not fun.

Very good professor. Be respectful and you will get along with her great. An A is not out of the question as she has two exams which are open note and open book, one paper, and a noncumulative final. I would recommend taking her. Don't always assume what students post on this website are 100% factual. I am giving you an unbiased viewpoint.

Dr. Dugan was by far the worst professor I have ever had in my life. Even if you enjoy history, she will ruin it for you. She is cruel, hateful, and does not care about her students in the slightest. Avoid her at all costs!
