Comment:
Dr. Tschuy is very funny and down to earth. The tests are kind of hard but you can make up tests and the Essays, speeches and projects come a lot easier. You work in pairs and groups alot. He likes when students participate, and you also go on field trips in his classes. He was accessible for me outside class and very reasonable and flexible.

Dr Tschuy is a very funny guy and easy to get along with. Skipping class will set you behind alot. Most of the work in class is done as a group or in pairs, with tests every week. I hate the VHL central system used for homework(not his fault). I struggled with the class, but did all the work, he works with people if you put in the effort.

Proffesor Tschuy is very funny when I understand his jokes. I didn't understand a lot of what he said in class, but this method of imersion was good in some ways. I enjoyed his teaching style and methods. If you do the homework and know the vocab and grammar you will pass the test, though they aren't easy.

Learning a foreign language is a lot of work. Eric made it fun! We studied out of the book, read French children's books, etc. so fun! One of my favorite college experiences ever!

If you do the online work, and actually open the book to review the vocabulary, you will do well on the tests. He creates tests that always include working with a partner, so be prepared, in case your partner is not! He's an interesting instructor, if you are interested in learning from him. Lots of online homework-some weeks are 8 hours long!

He's very knowledgeable but the field trips are ridiculous. Expects tons of hours of tutoring outside of class. Pop quizzes. Lots and lots of workbook work. All out of the book but he skips around A LOT! Proceed with caution!!!!

He's a fun guy and he teaches well. It's Spanish, so, it does require plenty of personal effort as well as teaching. One cannot go without the other. He provides good teaching, and if you need any questions he's open to them. He laughs at his own jokes which is just funny because everybody likes corny Spanish jokes.

The only way to pass the class is if you go to every single class meeting and tutoring that is available. The class I had with him was very confusing. He does know a lot but doesn't always know the best way to explain it. He also made us go on multiple field trips that had nothing to do with the French.

I had Eric for Spanish, and yes he is HARD but I LEARNED A TON! Try NOT to take the Summer classes, they are set up to be taken in 3 weeks. The ONLY reason why I passed my course during the summer, was because of this professor. He cares about his students, their learning process and wants to see them succeed!

Tschuy is a very nice and helpful professor. German is a tough language and I have struggled but he's always happy to help people and he's very lenient as long as he knows you try.

I had a hard time keeping up. He is determined to get through 4 chapters in the book no matter what. He's not always the most observant person so doesn't notice when most of the class is struggling. I will continue my German, but not with Eric. Just as I'm about to grasp a concept, we've already moved on to the next.

Eric is a good teacher but he is kind of like the absent minded professor. He can be overwhelming because he speaks German to the class like we are well beyond 2nd term. The homework is straight out of the workbook and can be difficult. Lots of chances for xtra credit though. Despite the fact that I constantly feel overwhelmed I am learning a lot.

He IS difficult to approach. I know it's not his intention - he's a great guy. I wish he'd get a little more personable and open up a little. He's a grea teacher.

I think the reason people think he's a little unapproachable is because he comes off a little...odd. He'll tell a joke in spanish or say something funny, but he's obviously much more advanced than the whole class, so half of the students will get it and the other half won't. then he chuckles to himself and says: "bueno." Otherwise good teacher.

Ask for clarification and you shall recieve. Will help if you ask, if you don't who will know? Touches most all bases of speaking the language.
