Makris makes you work for your grade and challenges you. However, you really learn a lot and she cares about students becoming great teachers. She answers emails quickly and really helped us in the course when we were online. She gives a lot of comments on your work. If you listen, you will learn a lot. Great NEIU prof.

If there are other teachers available, take them! I was warned about her but she was my only option. She is a ridiculous grader and does not stick to the syllabus well.

One of the best professors at NEIU! Her online class is not easy but you learn a lot. Don't take if you want an easy class. A lot of reading and video watching but the material is interesting. She emails back quickly and is helpful and cares about students. Observation is something for the state and helpful if you want to be a teacher.

Took an online class with her. She was not accessible at all. I had to email her several times regarding the same issue to get a response that did not relate to my questions. Was not clear on the assignments and provided little to no feedback on papers.

I am learning a lot in Dr. Makris' course. The amount of work she assigns is fair for an on-line course and it is all laid out in the syllabus. You have to follow and keep up with the work to get a good grade. Dr. Makris is always willing to help and I have met with her on Google Hangouts. She is the best teacher at NEIU.

Professor Makris was one of the toughest professors I have ever taken. She is not accessible at all! Her assignments are not clear and she does not completely answer the questions that you ask. She takes off unnecessary points and does not give extra credit or accept any late work. Her class literally gave me anxiety. I would not suggest her class.

I took her for an online class, she was not accessible at all, the professor did not answer the questions that were asked in any of the emails. The book was useless, so skip on buying that and save the 200 dollars. Honestly I wouldn't take any class with her again.

Be prepared to spend all your weekends/free time doing homework for this woman. She is very knowledgeable about course material and very willing to help but be prepared to sweat if you want at least a B. If you want an A then good luck. It can happen, but it will require a lot of long nights spent writing papers and reading long articles.

Lengthy assignments weekly, in addition to out of class 20 hrs of observation/volunteer work, and two long papers (in which she takes points off unnecessarily. If you miss an assignment, regardless of illness, there is no make-up, or extra credit. Take this ONLY if you are an education major. If you are a straight A student, be careful.

Eleni is one of the best professors I have had at NEIU. She is exactly what a professor should be- someone who challenges you to learn and makes you earn the grade you receive. I had a lot of professors who gave out A's and with Eleni I received a B. However, that was the grade I deserved and I learned more from her than any other professor.

Good professor, although, she takes points off for being late to class, or not showing up. I got into a car accident on the way to her class, and explained this to her. I still lost points! Very passionate, and willing to help if you need it. Keep up with the work, and turn it in on time. She has very high expectations for her students.

Dr. Makris was my favorite teacher at NEIU. Very understanding, passionate, and teaches you a lot. There are a few papers but she gives great detail on how she wants them done. Fair grader and very knowledgeable lady. Recommend for sure!

She is a great professor who really knows what she is talking about. At first she seems to be very demanding and condescending, but that is just to get rid of the weaker students. There is a decent workload, but nothing too much to handle. Show up to class and you'll be fine. P.S. be prepared to hear about her children.

If you want to be treated like you're in the third grade then by all means take this professor. If you are an adult and know how to read and don't need to rewrite the book yourself in order to understand it, steer clear. I am hard-working student. I just object to doing busy work that is of no value to me.

By far the most compassionate, engaged professor I've had in a long time. Dr. Makris will go the extra mile to ensure that you're on track. She is an inspiration and anyone pursuing education should spend some time in her classroom! She will change your outlook on so many things, including what is really means to be a teacher.

Makris assigns lots of reading and written work. Homework is assigned every week. For this class you must complete 20 observation /service hours. Attendance is mandatory, so don't be late! Makris expects you attend and participate actively in each class session. I suggest not taking her if you think this is a blow off class.Easy class lots of work.
