Easy A if you can put up with him. One photo project. Midterm and a Final, Both extremely easy if you study the notes. Class lectures are boring and his commentary is horrible. A little condescending in the sense that he speaks to the class as if we're children. Stick it out and you'll be fine. His personal stories are dull and laughable.

He talks for 3 hours straight without any class interaction. At 9:30 on a monday morning the last thing I want to do is sit in a dark room listening to a half blind man fart out film trivia as if he was Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting. He's a nice guy but you can raise your hand till it's purple numb and without him noticing you after a question.

At first, I didn't really have any interest in the course...it was required. Then, as the class progressed, it got easier. I still dreaded going because I had to sit through 3 hours of monotonous lecture. But, if you show some interest and take notes, you should be fine. There is extra credit to be had as well. Overall, he is great!!

SO. BORING. He basically spent 3 straight hours (with a 15 minute break) lecturing. He was monotonous and the fact that it was on a monday morning didn't help. It was good to get it over with all at once though! Each unexcused absence brings you down a letter grade, but the project everyone gets an A if all of the components are handed in on time.

hmmm well not bad at all i'd have to say. You each make one video really so just don't screw it up. It gets confusing so just listen. The mid term and the final are basically the same. i didn't get the book and i'm fine. He is a little odd. In the end i'd recommend the class. he is understanding and teaches what you need.

The entire class is basically three easy grades and that's it. Beyond those three assignments you have to sit through disorganized rants that hardly pertain to anything on the midterm or final. It's a required course, but I still feel like I didn't learn anything and my time was wasted

It is now the middle of April and the class has not received a single grade back. If we have a question for Avid, he asks the TA (That is when he doesn't leave for 30 minutes). Basically, this class is eye-crossingly dull and a complete waste of time. Take him if you wish to teach yourself everything and do very minimal work.

We have to shoot our projects in a week and he has barely explained ANYTHING. He rushes past important details quickly, spent three weeks reading screenplays but is leaving us with three days to actually explain shooting. Maybe he never taught this class before but he seems more content on us getting work done than us actually learning anything.

Sound and Image Aesthetics was the easiest class ever. The professor is really cool and your grade is based solely on three assignments: the midterm, a project and the final. The midterm and the final are mostly matching and the class project is fairly simple. Prof. Martinelli is awesome. I highly recommend him.

I was dreading this class because it was three hours long, but Professor Martinelli made it fun and interesting. His quizzes and exams were easy as long as you pay attention to his short lectures. A semester-long group project is a huge portion of the term grade, but other than that, it's a relatively easy class.

very friendly guy, extremely easy quizzes. Only two tests: midterm and final, and they're all multiple choice and matching. boring, boring class, but he tries his best to make it enjoyable. easiest A you'll ever get, as long as you show up.

Class was pretty easy, but also boring. He makes people raise their hand to use the bathroom which I thought was ridiculous and really treated the class like a bunch of high schoolers. I was a junior in the class so that annoyed me.

Professor Martinelli is very knowledgeable about the process of filmmaking and other aspects of the communication arts. I have heard from other students that they hadn't learned most of what we are learning right now until they took AVF 10. Professer Martinelli is doing a great job and also keeping us ahead of the game.

This guy means well, but really had no understanding of how any equipment should be used. Our grant taught us the entire class. Very, very easy quizes and tests. Two projects-one linear, other on the Avid-Have like 2 months to prepare for both. Overall, easy class, but learned very little from it. Avoid if you wanna learn something.

he doesn't know his ass from his elbow when it comes to advising students. When asked a question, he responds by saying, "Gee,...ya' know that's a good question."He always has to ask someone else in higher command for an answer, ex:(like a real professor)practically blind, and can't work a computer!
