Overall a great class for people interested in business or globalization. The readings are typically very engaging and the class uses the GVC framework to analyze globalization in various industries. Not to mention that Professor Gereffi is a world leader in his field and one of the kindest and most brilliant professor's I've ever had at Duke.

Professor Gereffi is one of the biggest names in the global value chains analysis. The course is about a certain framework and approach to policy analysis. The readings are interesting but they definitely are not easy. However, you can rely on Professor Gereffi to unlock everything for you. An eloquent speaker, he is a warm and kind individual.

Gereffi is an awesome professor for Organizations and Global Competitiveness. It is obvious that he is a leader in this field and very knowledgable and passionate about the topic. It takes discipline to keep up with the concepts and reading, but it is necessary. I feel tjat what I learned in this class is actually useful for real-life application.

This class was fairly challenging but interesting nonetheless. I was told it was the hardest MMS class (and maybe it is) but it depends on the kind of student you are. If you do not like group projects, I highly do not recommend this class. Gereffi is wonderful though. If he is not teaching it, the former TAs might be,and they are very helpful.

Really enjoyed this class. I was an engineering major so it was new for me, but very interesting. Gereffi was a little bit too tech-unsavvy for me, but at least he tried. Brought in some very cool guest speakers and had neat personal anecdotes to move the class along when it slowed down a bit.
