He is an amazing professor. Super chill and funny. He gave us a free pdf version of the textbook. We also had to purchase a book. Honestly, I did not read the pdf textbook nor the majority of the book we had to purchase. In my first essay, I got a C but when you show up to class every week and do the extra credit then you will get an A. Good luck.

I have taken NDP 341 and 342 with Professor Gerdow. He loves his job and is very nice and reasonable. Due to Covid-19, the classes were online. He would record the lectures and upload them. As long as we watched the lecture, we got the credit for attendance. 3 papers and one extra credit in both classes. One of the best professors at NEIU.

Gerdow is a great instructor. simple grading criteria and assignments. just go to class everyday and you will get either a B or an A as long as you do the work. which by the way there isn't that much of a work load to where you would struggle.

He is one of the best history teachers I've had. Not only does he make his lectures interesting to listen to, he makes them entertaining. He cracks "adult" jokes and isn't so uptight. He knows his stuff and how to teach it. Just be prepared to take notes as quickly as he speaks. He gives you detailed information of every event. Id take him again!!

This man is just amazing. Not only will you leave his class cracking up because he is so funny, but he really makes the material interesting to learn. He was very nice to me and he literally saved my semester. Take Mr. Gerdow. He is honestly the best instructor at NEIU. You will not be sorry. I really want to take him again!

Professor Gerdow is one of the best teachers I've ever had. His lectures can be long but very interesting. He really makes this class relevant and likes to incorporate todays issues as well as some humor. Participation is key, but very easy! Just show up and listen. Great teacher, looking for another class to take taught by him.

AMAZING AMAZING history professor I ever had! just attend everyday+share news with him(really helps for an A)+get all the points from 2map quizzes(backbone 4 no final)+take really good notes( if do,no need of books!) A. just read the book ahead of time and simply answer his q's for d paper. dont BACKOFF takin him becuz of his essays exam&paper!!

I've always struggled with history classes, but Prof Gerdow makes it all so clear. He makes the class interesting and funny. He doesn't make you take the final if you have an A average, he GIVES you the midterm so you can study for it (essay), one paper, and extra credit. Only need the book that's for the paper

Professor Gerdow is the greatest. He really cares for his students and wants them all to do their best. He always gives opportunity if you didn't do as well as you had hoped. His sarcastic humor makes the class fun and makes you want to know more about history. He shows movies that are helpful and you can tell how much he loves what he does.

If you're into history, it's an interesting and engaging class. He tries to show how current events stem from history. A little snarky and a lot liberal in political views. Take good notes and I really don't think you'll need the text.

Mr. Gerdow is a great professor. What I loved the most about his class is that he gives most of the work before midterm and after just a paper, a short extra credit (optional). Do not have to take the final if you are averaging an A. :)

EXCELLENT INSTRUCTOR. ONE OF THE BEST INSTRUCTOR HAVE HAD SINCE IVE BEEN IN COLLEGE. I WOULD TAKE ANOTHER CLASS WITH HIM ANY TIME.
