Comment:

This professor is a hard grader, but very fair. He answered any question I had, which helped my grade. There were at least two articles a week. One released on Monday, due Tuesday and another released Wednesday, due Friday. Quizzes were not too bad if you study a bit. Awesome class and professor! AP stylebook and accuracy is the focus.

I went into com300 with horror stories and came out the other end with an A. Mike is a great professor. Gives you instant feedback when you're stuck with something. Responds to emails in a timely manner (within the hour most times). He will look over your final paper and give you feedback if you turn it in a week before. 100% would recommend him!

Comment:

McLaughlin is a terrible Professor. He will straight up give you an F for one mistake. He has also made us write about things that could be sensitive. For example, we had to write a story about a student who died literally 2 days after it happened.

Comment:

Professor McLaughlin was a great instructor. He graded hard, but made you a better writer for it. He was flexible and really wanted his students to succeed in his course. Highly recommend taking his courses!

Comment:

Extremely fair grader, won't pass you for the hell of it but he won't let you fail if you don't deserve it either. Com300 is a rigorous course, but McLaughlin is a good pick and does his best to make sure everything is clear and manageable. He expects an appropriate level of work from students and doesn't try to make things harder than needed.

Mike is the best professor I have ever had during my four years at WSU. He truly cares about his students both personally and academically, which is a rare find. I struggled with some personal issues and fell behind and he worked to get me back on track. This is definitely a really challenging class but he gives great feedback and is extremely fair

Mike is hands down my favorite teacher I have had at WSU thus far. He is so helpful and will answer any of your questions. Quizzes are easy if you study for them. Obviously heard the horror stories of COM 300 but he has made it worthwhile and kind of fun for me. Don't know how I would have done with other teachers but Mike was awesome!

Best professor for Com 300 by far. He is clear on what it takes to pass. Quizzes are doable if you study. Put effort in every time you write an essay and learn from your mistakes and it wont be too bad. He will answer any questions you have while writing and that will help you do better. Cant read his handwritting though.

He makes Com 300 a passable class. Gives you exactly what the F errors are for each essay and will answer questions while you're writing it. You can tell he wants his students to pass and does his best to help them succeed.

Overall, great teacher. Only thing I didn't really like was how fast of a talker he was. It was very difficult to understand what he was saying most times because his words always jumbled together. His hand writing is pretty difficult to read as well. Skim through chapters the day before lecture to make sure you know what he's talking about!

McLoffs is by far the most helpful instructor for COM 295, he genuinely cares about the success of his students and provides tons of information. He is very knowledgable and is willing to help with all students concerns and questions! I highly recommend him for Communication 295

This class is noted for being one of the most difficult in our program, yet McLoffs made it a wonderful experience, and made sure we all had the opportunity to learn and be successful. Class was interesting, challenging, and a great experience.

Mike is a great guy and a great teacher. Students feel really comfortable around him and he's really funny and friendly. I don't know about other Com 295 teachers but if I had to take the class again I would take it with Mike.

Mike is the best. He helps you with ANYTHING you ask and he made 295 not scary and almost a ton easier then it could have been. He's fair and he teaches really well. You'll never be confused. He's also super chill and down to earth.

Amazing teacher. Knows the difference between anal and too chill. He has helped me improve my grammar and journalism skills so much. Mike uses his real-world experience to show us what matters and what doesn't. Fantastic 295 teacher, I highly recommend Mike!
