while its a 300 level class IS classes are often required as a gen ed...... millions of quizzes over a book he himself wrote. one of those classes that just assumes you arent already doing enough so they decide to throw a million more things on your plate.

easy course, show up to class its an easy A/B grade. Greg is monotone so it makes lectures boring and drag on, but if you can get past that, its a super easy class. Most of you grade comes from the 4 test and your final argument (70% of grade) so make sure you study. Test are online with 75min time limit (30-40 questions) final is 2 pg paper.

He had online tests and you could argue back points but you are only graded on 4 tests and a final paper so you must score well on the tests. Also go to class because he does occasionally take attendance.

Not the most exciting teacher to listen to, but his tests are easy and are all online. He lets you fight back points if you have a decent argument and I would say this is an easy A.

He makes the 3 hour classes feel like 12 hours because of his monotone voice and boring lectures. Tries to be funny but isn't. Cancels classes on the weeks we have online tests which is good but also bad considering for the group speech you don't meet the week before you give it so you go in blind. Assignments due online almost every week.

I mean not my favorite and extremely boring, but he is really easy. His tests are hard though! Also when you do your argument choose something that is hard to tear apart if you want an easy A on it.

This class was by far not easy for me. Fields was very helpful in his feedback to students and tried his best to help them succeed. His lectures can be boring because he is pretty monotone, but if you get to know him he is a great guy and knowledgeable in his teachings.

Yes, the class can be boring. Show up so you can get the attendance points and learn what's on the test. I showed up to maybe 6 of the classes and got an "A". the tests are online and open-note, and you can argue the questions to get points back which is awesome. you don't use your book. print and bring the study questions. he's very kind

Professor Fields was lecture heavy, but was funny and very understanding. He is knowledgable on his topic and very understanding that philosophy questions commonly have more than one answer, therefore he is VERY open to changing test scores. I enjoyed Professor Fields, but did not enjoy my 3 hour class, try and avoid that.

AWESOMe, I had him for several religious studies & philosophy classes, and chose him as my faculty mentor. Think mad scientist/nutty professor, he may rush into the room 10min after class start with a mess in his arms, but he LOVES what he's teaching about and is very understanding if you're being genuine and putting in an effort.

Great instructor! He is truly passionate about the subjects he teaches. TONS of first hand knowledge and experience. Participation isn't mandatory, but I have no idea why you wouldn't want to! You get out of the class what you put in. Dr. Fields is such a wealth of knowledge and is eager to share. Reminds me why I fell in love with learning!

* Monotone voice in a monotone room with monotone content * Homework is rarely graded and you really don't need to do assignments for class in order to understand * Test answers are usually debated, points often given back

Boring teacher but enjoys what he does. He's writing a few books so that's his excuse for why he takes so long to give grades. I didn't enjoy the class

An awesome teacher. Honestly wants you to learn. I've noticed comments saying he's not exciting. News flash, he's not there to entertain you. He teaches, and does it well. If you feel that a question on a test is up for debate, he will let you.
