Dr. Berry is a laid back professor who will use lectures, recordings, and videos to help the students understand the music. Attendance isn't mandatory. The textbook is used often although most of the questions come from the notes in class. He is usually busy making him hard to contact. Still, the class is an easy A ,and he is a cool professor

If you know a thing or two about music you will be alright during the class, you dont really even need the book because the tests are made up of what he lectures on. So make sure to attend class. He says he collects attendance, but he really doesnt.

Go to class and it's an easy A. You don't need the book, I never used mine. All of the tests are on lecture material. Overall a very fun and interesting class. we listened to a lot of different music, and watched a few videos (including one on woodstock). he's very laid back and funny. Take him!

This class was great as long as you attend class and take notes. It's very informative and interesting. If you have a music background you'll do fine, as I did. If you don't, I would suggest going to every class and studying a lot.

I had him for marching band, concert band, and intro to music and he was GREAT. He's very easy to talk to and he is understanding. Such a nice guy-- if you're in one of his ensembles he takes the time to know everyone by name. Awesome guy.

Not that hard. He can seem to play favorites as others have said, but honestly, imo it is because no one else participates. Tests can be tough even if you attend every class, but if you have a decent memory and spend a couple of hours the night before tests preparing, you will do fine.

Like he's a nice guy but all and all he's a stuck up jerk. He plays favorites A LOT. I had him for many classes and he always is nice to the same people over and over, and if your not one of his faves then forget him being nice to you. Got good grades with him but not a nice person to talk to.

WOW I love it here because of him, hes so clear and makes class fun..I have him for Wind ensemble, marching band and skills and I love every class...and hes quite cute for an older man...haha and hes an amazing conductor!

I really enjoy having jimbo! I have him for skills, marching band, and wind ensemble. It hasn't even been a month and I already have learned more from him than anyone else. He is so easy to talk to and get advice/help. I am looking forward to my 3 more years with him, and to annoy him some more..haha cute for an older man too!! *wink*
