This class is pretty easy for a 200 level course. You definitely can't miss class though she does a lot of in classroom reaction papers and those count towards your grade. The homework level is nothing too crazy. Javette though is really awesome and funny. I would definitely take a class if she was teaching it.

Hayes is a good professor and her class is straightforward. We had two exams, in class assignments ( mostly reflection papers) and one group project. Buy the book because she uses terms for the exam, and take notes. If you show up each class and study the guides she gives, you will have no problems. Also she is super nice and understanding!

She is pretty straightforward with what you need to do. Lecture can be long as she keeps you she whole class time and she talks a bit fast but does use real life examples. Need the book, a midterm, final and couple small papers (2pgs), one group project and one presentation overall good class and u learn conflict management for sure.

Dr. Hayes is one of the most kind and caring professors. Her conflict class was so interesting, and she is very knowledgeable. Just read the textbook the exams are straight from the book and you should pass. I really enjoyed every minute of the lecture and group discussions get very intense (in a good way).

Professor Hayes really understands conflict, as made evident by her colorful lectures and attention to detail. She can answer any questions you have and it very clear in her descriptions. Attendance is a must, and she wants students to bring the textbook to class, but it is not always needed. Overall a great professor-and funny!

I loved prof Hayes. Shes very funny and has great lectures. You have several reaction papers to write, just read the book. We have 2 tests: midterm and final. And you have a group project at the end where you can pick group and topic. We watch movies and tv clips often. Definitely would recommend if you actually like comm stuff!

Easiest and best 400 level class ever. 10 2-4 page application/response papers (so like weekly assignments) and 2 exams. No frills, straight forward class. Textbook is mandatory but easy to read and understand. Takes roll. Lectures are just discussing the homework so no PowerPoint, but it gets fun and lively. Watched two movies in the semester.

Dr. Hayes is an excellent professor who is very passionate about interpersonal comm. She is sweet, smart, and funny. Read the textbook because most material on exams is from the textbook. She doesn't lecture often. The class is discussion based with pop culture examples to relate to material. 2 exams and 2 presentations. Don't procrastinate.

As long as you prepare for the speeches you will get a good grade on those. However the midterm and final are completely hit or miss. During class we do not go over material that are on the test. majority of the students fail the tests which are based off of the book (dont slack on the reading). no lectures which is a loss for the exams.

There are about 5 or 6 speeches. Very easy to get a good grade as long as you follow the rubric. there's actually a reading every week but I never did it but still managed a good grade. There are some lectures and the midterm/final is based on readings and those lectures so take notes whenever. she's also very kind and informative.

Like any other communication courses, participation matters! 1 paper, 1 presentation, 1 group project, 2 exams, and some extra reaction papers here and there to earn points! Overall, Dr. Hayes is pretty laid back. She tries relates to her students and can be rather fun too!

Absolutely fantastic professor. She is reasonable and caring. Follow the outlines that she gives you when preparing your speeches and you will do great. As long as you have all the necessary parts to your outlines, you will get an easy A on each speech. Read/know the terms for the midterm and final and you will be fine. Class is genuinely enjoyable

Love professor Hayes but those exams are rough! Understandable for a 300 level class but sometimes feels like a graduate level exam. Class consisted of lecture, two exams, and one group project. Be careful to not bomb an exam

I went into this class very nervous because public speaking is not something I enjoy doing. I was not expecting a good grade, being that I hate giving speeches. But with Prof. Hayes' help, tips and support I passed with an A+. She makes you feel comfortable and is very encouraging, I actually enjoyed being in class. Highly, highly recommend!

This is by far the worst professor I have ever had . Group projects and no compassion for groups who have had a really bad team member . She is the epitome of being overly talkative about her own life yet fails to read of the book. Holy crap, DO NOT TAKE HER!!

Two exams (not comprehensive), an individual presentation and a group presentation. Class is very "hands-on" but to do well on the exams, you need to read the book. Most of the material tested isn't covered in class.
