Yes, Jeanette is a hard teacher. She just expects a lot of you and pushes you to really focus on your art. I made the best drawings and learned the most from her class. Don't take if not serious about art/drawing. She expects you to have background/knowledge of art.

A strange lady for sure. She can be rude, but she also knows a lot about her subject (I took non-Western art) I think a lot of the material might seem useless and obscure, but remember you signed up for it. Read everything she gives you. It isn't detrimental to be all ears during lectures. Anything she wants you to know for a test she will repeat.

Before the quarter ended I heard multiple people say, "She is everything I hate about the art community." She is exceptionally rude, and will constantly expect you to change your piece to her liking. She is the slayer of inspration and creativity. never once did she draw anything of her own for the class to see. Worst teachers I have ever had.

Jeannette is misunderstood by alot of students. She is a very nice lady, and was very helpful for me. You really just have to get to know her. The reason most students find her difficult is because she is very passionate about teaching art, and wants students to excel to their highest potential. I would definitely recommend her class.

Worst teacher on the planet. She expects you to attend, and takes major points away if you don't..... but there is no substance to her lectures ever! Test questions are worded incorrectly and unclear AND she makes up words and expects you to fulfill her definition of them. Very odd lady. No one cares you went to Africa Jeanette.

Avoid this teacher if possible. She is extremely rude and gives terribly boring lectures. I know that this is a lecture based class, but there are ways to make it more interesting. She repeated the same lecture twice this quarter. You are required to remember useless random facts for tests, rather than info that actually matters.

TERRIBLE. SO BORING! SO MUCH WORK! It should be called a butt load of reading and the history of African art. NOT nwart. You also have to complete this mythology project. It's stupid. MY advice is to stay the heck away. I'm so regretting taking this class. There goes the old GPA.

Seriously people - her class wasn't bad at all! Yes, she does expect you to read the book, know the geographic location of the topics discussed, and prove that knowledge in a test format. But so what? Don't you want more from your education? Read the book and be active in the pursuit of knowledge in her class and you will get an A.

Not the greatest out there... If you can I would deffintley find a different professor teaching the class you need. If she doesn't like you there's no way you'll pass, she's unclear and unless it's her specific and unclear way forget about passing the assignment, unless you master in kissing up. Holy crap.... you really need to work hard and pay attention inthis class She is a semi difficult person but she has reason. She pushes you to your limit and its one of those thank her until later. If you like challenge then take the class but pay attention and work hard!!! She's a great professor she just isn't so into mercy.

Not a bad person, but very difficult as a teacher. Method of checking attendance involves signing your name on a sheet of paper that doesn't always get around the entire classroom (I went to class every single day but recorded as having missed five days of class). Her study guides don't always cover what is on the tests.

alright, this teacher kinda sucks a lot. she is a teacher, but don't join it if you think you're going to MAKE art. this is all about art history, and mostly just indians. i'm not bashing on indians, but i joined to create art, not study history. she needs to change the name of her class to 'history of indians no one has ever heard of'.

Teaching is an art and while I must agree that it isn't her best skill, Kirishian more than makes up for it. The amount of information she distributes and the array of topics she introduces gives the student all the needed tools to make the inquiry themselves. Highly recommend her class. Years later I still have the notebook/too much good stuff!
