Do NOT take any class with Dr. Levi! She is very demanding with her assignments, thinks her class is the only class that matters. and VERY condescending. When she gives out essay assignments she barely explains them. When she meets with you for a conference she will tell you that your entire essay is wrong, yet she never clearly explained.

She really prepares you for the assignments. I am not one for English and Ive never been good but I did well and felt prepared for every assignment because she teaches well and organizes the requirements.

Comment:

Every essay turned in was no more than a 70%. After going to the writing lab, and using the owl online writing tutor I still received a 70%. Very precise and difficult to write exactly how she wants it organized... good luck.

Prof. Levi is very effective at instruction. She pushes you to be better while offering loads of support to back you up. She is very understanding, but has expectations. You can't phone it in with her. No matter where you're coming from with writing, she will challenge you to be your best. I feel as though I have a clearer picture of my own writing

Professor Levi gave my poor high school-freshman-self the biggest kick in the pants I had ever had academically. Her class was like a special forces boot camp to teach lowly, unknowing schmucks like myself how to write like pros. The critical thinking skills she instilled along with the work ethic it took to get an A have forever changed me.

Prof. Levi was my favorite professor. Every single class was very informative, and she used the time wisely. Although she is a tough grader, if you pay attention and work hard, you will pass with flying colors.

Levi is hands down the best professor in the department. Cecil is lucky to have her. She's the only professor here who's really challenged me. Most students don't like her though because her class is no walk in the park. I loved it.

She is such a hard grader. I regret taking her class. She expects way too much from students. I had to take a higher level course with just 10 people, majority were English majors. She didn't really care for the people who were not as enthusiastic about the literature or who didn't agree with her opinion. NEVER taking her again. EVER.

She was fantastic. I only failed because I stopped going to classes halfway into the semester (it was a bad time). If you are OK with English and writing, she was absolutely great. Very sarcastic, open-minded; yes, tough, but in a good way. The class was engaging. Always interesting.
