Comment:

At first, I thought she was making my life a living hell, but she actually was preparing me for four-year university writing and reading. She can be mean sometimes and condescending, which is fine if you brush it off or play dumb. Overall, I learned rather than suffered, and I have a different work ethic because of her.

Comment:

She is the worst professor I have EVER encountered. She is very condescending and just bitter overall. Make one mistake and she makes sure to target you for everything you do. Grades so hard. Always tries to find something wrong with your paper. Never leaves any positive comments. Cant even check your phone without being yelled at in her class.

Comment:

Dr. Laufe is amazing. Is she tough sometimes? Yes, but it's because she cares. A lot of the students feel like they are entitled to just float by because this is a community college, and sure, we're all dealing with outside stuff, but Dr. Laufe KNOWS all of the potential we hold, and she's gonna make sure to make we recognize it as well. Love her!

This professor is really bad. Has absolutely zero empathy or compassion, holds students to an unrealistic standard, and overall comes across as unpleasant and rude. If you don't want to be miserable, avoid this professor at all costs.

Not an easy grader but cares about your improvement as a student. Do not expect to be mediocre as you will not do well. Expect to put in the work for your grade. Certainly one of the toughest professors I ever had to take. Again NOT an easy "A". Does not give extra credit. (Summer Study Travel Program)

Professor Laufe is very knowledgeable! A monster in her topic. However, she has absolutely high standards and is def a harsh grader. I'm a 3.8 GPA student and it was a really hard class for me. TONS of readings (3 textbooks just for her class) and long papers, midterms and finals. Be advised it's a lot of reading and writing. Hard to keep up with.

She is a very tough grader and expects the absolute best from you. If you don't give it your all, she will give up on you - simple as that. There is a lot of reading, but at the end of the day - she molds you into excellency. If you want an easy A, don't bother with this course; however, if you're looking to improve yourself as a student, go for it

She is a really hard grader with Extremely High standards. She demands a lot. She says she tries to respond emails, but will only do if she feels like. Just stay away from her and take ANY other professor other than her ans d you will be good !!

To be honest, I hated the class since day two, it is a lot of work, and she definitively has high standards. I could not be any prouder to have her as a my professor. She is a great human being that demands a lot from her students, and without her "though love" I would not achieved a B, she is by far the hardest prof. around. but deff. worth it.

She is an unapproachable, bitter, mean, and harsh professor. She is discouraging and disagrees with everything you say. She will mark your paper up and down and make sure to find something that you did wrong. She is very patronizing and makes you feel like you are dumb.I do not recommend taking this class. Avoid this horrible human if possible.

It's amazing that an anthropology professor can come across as so ****. She regularly gets into shouting matches with her students in class. She looks like a troll. She's a terrible teacher and a rude unlikeable person. I would really recommend that any student thinking about taking her class immediately reconsider. NOT a good experience AT ALL.

Well, the consensus is spot-on. She's boring, uncharismatic, "never wrong," and teaches by video. As with ALL college classes, but especially this one, you can learn EVERYTHING on your own. Lots of verbal crutches, too - after the second day, I kept a tally of all the times she'd say "um," "right," "ok," etc. just to get through class.

This prof. refuses to be wrong about ANYTHING. You can try to challenge, even when you're right, but she finds a way to make herself seem right. Very manipulative. HARSH Grader. 3.9 student got nothing but B's. Worked hard! No good reasons given. GPA dropped from this class. I once counted # of times she said "Right" in class w/in 15min. = 77!!

She is HORRIBLE. So rude and stuck up. She hates students and wants everything her way and wants everyone to agree with everything she says. Makes too many political statements and ahe is just so bitter and nasty. You will suffer if you take her. She should not be teaching. She is tricky and gets mad if you get an A so she grades you harder.

Dr. L isn't so bad. The "right"s get a little distracting from time to time, sure. And lectures can be a little disorganized, but if you meet with her personally, she's pretty cool. Lots of videos, lots of reading, lots of papers.
