If you can avoid taking a class with him, pls do! His teaching style is so bad. He might be good at what he does, but teaching is definitely not his calling.

Gets a bad rep for being clear and direct, which is a plus to me. One of the few profs that will call people out on cellphone use, but in a subtle, funny way. I passed with a good grade after failing last time with a more popular prof. It was challenging and I found 1 question unfair on the final. Still, better than last time. Good lecturer overall

Honestly, if you're reading my review for chem231.. Just don't ever take it with him. He is one of the worst profs I have had and I haven't seen too many more that are worse, probably like 1 other prof. His exams are crazy hard and even if you do the assignments it won't prepare you. Avoid him if you can, drop early, do whatever, save yourself!

Along with other reviews, Dr. Mueller is not a good teacher. He doesn't explain, clarify, or help much. His tests are the usual (as this class is usually common throughout sections). You're gonna have to teach yourself most of the material as he is unclear. He knows what he is doing (most of the time), he's just not good at teaching it.

Comment:
In spite of common complaints, his tests aren't difficult... if you know what to study. The problem is only that he lacks any sort of focus in lectures. Even questions about what to focus on lead nowhere. Best bet is finding examples of tests from previous years and studying from those.

Comment:
Inorganic chemistry is a difficult subject alone, but Dr. Mueller managed to make it worse. His explanations where convoluted and unclear. The exams where difficult, with questions focusing on material not directly related to the class, instead tangential remarks. The final in itself was a slaughter of the innocents, a third of the class failed.

Comment:
He was terribly unclear in his explanations of new material and offered little help when it came to reasonable questions. He expected too much of students in terms of prior knowledge to the course and was sometimes even rude to people.

Worse prof ever. Got mad at students for asking to go over examples. Thought everyone knew all the new material, therefor did not teach us at all. Sassy and just plain horrible. Needed a tutor and still didn't do well

I urge all of you (unless you are extremely skilled at math) to not take chem with this man. While he may be difficult to understand at times, the worst part about the way his chem lectures was that his practice equations were barely even legible, and he tends to not explain a lot of steps he does, leaving you confused as to how he got his answers

One of the worst profs I have ever had. Tests were ridiculously hard and did not reflect content emphasized in class. Doesn't post answers to any assignments or tests so you have no idea where you are going wrong.

Comment:
His class is based on you going over the text before hand and THAN going to class so he can explain it to you. Many people think that he is their to go over the text for you, but he really is not- he mentioned it himself. Overall I think he is decent. Could be better could be worse.

Very challenging class, tough professor, but well worth the effort. Once I got used to his style (and accent) I found him to be a solid lecturer who answers questions very carefully and thoroughly. Actually pretty friendly, despite the hardcase image.

The material is not hard, but you are required to understand it really well, not just memorize it. I found him to be very helpful, if you have a question you just have to ask, he might make you feel stupid but he will give you the answer and help you understand in the end.

not clear at all, notes dosen't point anywhere, either deliberately misfying contents or himself not even understand the materail enought to a teaching level. He loves to establish and strive to protect the hardcore image.

Very knowledgeable, provides lots of examples relating to industry/the real world. Supplements lectures with examples on the board and with videos. Assignments and exams are hard. He's a stickler for details and is a hard marker. Occasionally struggles with English, and can be blunt. Encourages questions, tries to be helpful, is very enthusiastic.
