His lectures were not always easy to understand. He found out that you could find the answers to book problems online and wrote his own home work which was more theory based than math based. Made up examples had lots of mistakes.

Comment:
Very high pace course with fast lecture. Tests are crowded and difficult to finish in time alloted. This prof values speed of thinking and the more steps done in your head, the faster you can go and less space you need to take on the test for computations.Very helpful in office.

Comment:
Lots of homework, weeky assignments are long and hard, but it counts for 55% of the grade, so if you don't take tests well you can still do well in this class. Tests are very difficult. He is disorganized, and sometimes lectures are hard to follow because he skips lots of steps, but don't be scared of taking his class, you'll learn good stuff.

awsome professor: contrary to urban legend, he does bring in trial examples (the mysterious black notebooks) but also shoots from the hip to keep the students engaged. one of the best math profs here, highly recommend.

Dr. Starret is pretty spacey, and he makes many, many mistakes when solving problems, but the jist of it is always clear. He gives good, enjoyable lectures, and performs very ingenuitive demonstrations.

Starrett is very smart and obviously loves to teach. He knows some of the course material is particularly hard, and is eager to do anything to help students understand better. He occasionally makes mistakes in examples (addition, signs, etc), but he knows his stuff.

He's an absolutely great guy. Sure, in lecture things get a little out of hand with him getting lost, but his real strength is one on one. He's always open to help students and when you catch him out of class, his ability to teach grows exponentially (yea, stupid math joke, get over it)

nice guy, not so great a teacher. when he makes mixtakes he gets very flustered and can't really get on with the lecture. he's always so nervous in class, and even without mistakes, he's very hard to understand. but he's fair and easy to talk to.

Great guy. Makes class kind of fun. His examples are time consuming since we all are working on them together, since he makes them up on the spot, and makes errors that we all work to correct.

Eccentric in an enlivening way. One will need mental agility to follow his reasoning and examples, but he's very precise and knoledgeable in calculus.
